The PRC would like to remind the other nations that we are open to trades and work orders. PM Yodamaster and/or myself and we can help complete your industrial needs!

Orders: (All subject to editing until all PRC leaders have had their say)

The EU would like to support the main drift of the Yoda Accords in that the first country to colonize a world does not gain complete sovereignty but can set limits on and requirements on other counties development of the planet in question.

My proposal for the EU's next move is

I'll just confirm Knave's orders, and also re-iterate that with the PRC's production capacity, there are many mutually beneficial time-saving agreements that can be made.

Also, the proposal that, summed up comes down to, "the first country to colonize a world does not gain complete sovereignty but can set limits on and requirements on other counties development of the planet in question" has the support of the PRC and EU, pending review by Japan and the USA.

Also, Bremen, could we have something in the OP that sums up current treaties, expiration year, current game year, and such? It would be easier to have a single place to refer to rather than having to fish through the thread. This is starting to get rather large and complex. All I'm aware of right now is the GSA that expires in 2050.

The US supports the Yoda Guidelines, but offers an addendum in the form of the "Hernandez Exemption".

Since asteroids are so small, usually mineral-poor, and completely incapable of supporting life, the exemption states that asteroids would be considered claimable. Comets are somewhat of a gray area, since they have more minerals but spend so much time in deep space. They would require a majority vote one way or the other.

To re-iterate, the US still supports the guidelines and will not withdraw support if the Hernandez Exemption is not approved.

Right, I agree with the Yoda guidelines, though I'd like to have clarified what counts as "the first country to colonize a world", is it first claim, first installations put down or first suckers people put onto the rock? I don't agree with the US' addendum, however. I might support it if it's modified to only apply to bodies with very small amounts of minerals total (I'd suggest an upper limit of 5-10,000 tonnes in that case).

Orders (basically the same as before, I'll mark any changes in bold):

Would the PRC agrees with another lab deal like the first one?

Many people claim that there are jump points scattered throughout the system providing instant access to star systems light years away. Though this research is still highly theoretical, perhaps this issue should be addressed.
Should the Yoda Guidelines apply to bodies outside our solar system?

((OOC: Yes, I'm having the text wrap problem))

Well, anyway I think any claim should be validated by a majority vote. Whole systems could be claimed by any nation, but only after approval by the UN Security Council.

So wait, we nearly went to war over claiming planets, but now you want to claim whole systems at once?  ???

Well, what we want toa void is a country taking over most of the ressources. Now, it means preventing people from claiming planets. LAter on, if there is enough systems for everyone, why not claim them?

You will also note that I said claims should be validated by majority vote. One of my main beef with yours was that it was just you shooting a few flags and stating those where your planets. You did not even consult us.

True. I guess I'm just surprised by the 180 degree change from "hey, you can't claim stuff!" to "hey, let's claim stuff!". It was a little sudden  :P

Consider this to be like colonization in the 1600's. It's ok to claim land as long as everybody gets a seemingly equal share.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.
