Due to 'popular' demand....



Let's EXPLORE MAGICAL WORLDS AND CONQUER THEM!

I haven't played this or read the manual for a long time, so tonight I will read the manual in detail while I deliberate on who to be and what race. If you have any ideas for what race/person, let me know.

A basic overview of the Wizards we can choose. Yes I said wizard, it's one of those.

I have decided to be the death wizard Rjak.



Rjak is a warlock who specializes in death magic. With nine spell
ranks in this area, he has almost all death magic spells in his spell
library. Further enhancing his fearsome powers, Rjak has
developed the special ability of Infernal Power. This special ability
increases the amount of magic power he draws from the shrines,
temples and parthenons that have been bent to his worship.


The race i'm still undecided on, but I think it would be best to be orcs, given the evil nature of our wizard.

Did they ever make a remake of this game?  It was fun but buggy and broken.

Also for race I like nomad for some reason.

Oh geeze, its been such a long time since I played this. I remember the orcs being one of the better races of the normal plane to start with. Besides there are nuetral cities to take and you can gain new races to use in your armies. Trolls from the mirror plane I remember being exceptionally deadly with a death wizard backing them. Turn an elite troll unit undead with their regeneration they negate one of the biggest handicaps of being undead. Anyways definately be following this for the sake of nostalgia.

There have been several spiritual successors, as well as an insecticide patch (http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4211) which fixes many of the game's bugs.

I think the closest thing to a MoM sucessor would be the age of wonders series, especialy the first one. Didn't like the sequels so much.

I think the closest thing to a MoM sucessor would be the age of wonders series, especialy the first one. Didn't like the sequels so much.

I love AoW 1. It's one of the few games I NEVER remove from my HD.

Picked Rjak, renamed to ToadyOne. We have a red banner.

Turn 1-1

Ok so we've just started. We've just settled our first city, and it shall be named STORMWIND.

Nomad soldiers seem to have large shields and some armor, defending them against arrows.

Our great hamlet! 4000 people. We shall build a granary! we need more slaves valued employees!(+20 people a turn and bonus to food production).

We have given our heroes to be a decent magic skill a turn for casting spells. Only a small amount to be allocated to gathering mana, and a medium income for the research of TERROR. Terror is a battlefield spell which puts the fear of Toady into the enemies hearts.

Just a intro to the game here, next i'll add a list of our current units we can build. Spearmen/Swordsmen.
