As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

Looks like a perfect embark site to me. What kind of FPS do you get?

Is that ground level HFS?

Now with save! Note: There two carpenters, one miner, two farmers, an engineer, and a pikeman. All goblins. Battlecraft included.

After some initial looking around, I found that the map goes from level -1 (the absolute bottom) to level 483 (Really, really high). There appears to be green grass in the cavern areas directly in contact with the slade mountain, and magma is draining into the hellish pits. I get about 8-11 FPS, but that may go up if I choose to stop the magma flow. It didn't crash, and there are no (immediate) caveins.

"This is a world of great wonders," they said, "all around us are the wonders of Guzel the Walled Actions of Glistening." They told us that we were to go on a pilgrimage to one of its most holy areas. According to them, we would know when we had reached the stopoff point. Damned right we knew.

Strange, typically those embarks are stable for about 2 seconds before they go nuclear and the embark site explodes.

Maybe the slade mountain is keeping everything together.

Ah, yes, there's one thing you might want to be aware of if you try to play with this embark:

Export the worldgen information and regenerate the world using the same seeds and parameters - chances are very high (probably close to 100%) that regenerating this world will not result in this glitchy embark site.

It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

There's a mod called Battlecraft. And I increased minimum volcanos and changed minerals to 1000. 150 year worldgen.
