Through the Drakwald (Warhammer)
« on: June 28, 2011, 08:59:45 am »

Hello all. Since my work schedule has quieted down once again I thought it was time to introduce you all to a great game: Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay.

Those of you familiar with Dark Heresy will find it quite similar in mechanics. Those who do not know anything about either need not worry. Anyone who wishes to play will be taught how to play, though the system is simple and easy to pick up.

This game will be using the introductory adventure: "Through the Drakwald", and may continue on through the "Paths of the Damned" adventures should players wish to continue.

I can take at max 5 players at this time. As characters die I will take new players to replace them.

For those who would wish to play I will build you a character based on numbers you will provide:

I look forward to your replies.

Note: Hamachi will be used. Maptools will be used for combat only.
Sessions will be held on Thursdays 10pm GMT or Sunday GMT, whichever is more convienient for my players

Current Players

Scriver  (Bonniface of the Bridge: Halfing Bounty Hunter)
Dsarker (Sigfried the Human Apprentice Mage)
Barbarossa (Tobrek the Dwarf Mercenary)
Adwarf (Lanoras the Elf Smuggler)
Yoink (Pieter the Human Jailer)

I'm interested. I'm not sure I'll be able to do it, however, but I can't see anything getting in the way as of now. Can do any of the days, too, but I'd prefer sundays. I'm also one of those guys who don't now a single thing about WFR (right?), so you're gonna have to teach me stuff.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Heh, didn't know Warhammer had halflings.

You do not convince me. You rationalize your actions and because the result is favorable you become right.

I'm going to guess i'm an apprentice wizard, from a fortified city in Averland.

I bet I will have one sibling.

I'll be 6' 10", or thereabouts.

Also, sign of Mahmid the wise? Sign of Wisdom.

Sneaky Sneaky.

Though I actually gave you Aprrentice Mage, I'm using the Career Compendium, so you would have landed with Agitator Otherwise

Sweet, was hoping for something skulky-like. A bounty hunter will do just fine. Need someone found or captured? Bonniface "the Thumb" Bridger, at yer service. No questions asked, except for those about payment and remuneration, of course.

Skills: Gossip
An essential Bounty Hunter skill right there it is ;D

And directly to the questions:
1, Why are siblings important? Or is it just flavour?

2, What does star sign do?

3, While I assume will get to what stats do and such eventually, what does all of the following mean? How much I gain per "level" (if there are levels)?

4, While I can guess the other talents, what does "Marksman Rover" do?

And lastly, I'm just pointing out that it says "human" in there, which I guess is wrong?

Siblings and starsign are flavor

The advancement scheme is what kind and how many advances you can take in that career. Each 5 point increment is 100xp. Once you buy all of them you move on to a new career. You get one free advance when you make a character. The plus sign in fronto of Bs indicates that I gave you one advance in it.

As for marksman. It gives you a +5 to you Bs.
Rover menas you a +10 bonus to concealment and silent move tests when in the wild

Oh, so they were different talents. Then I get it. Thanks for the answers, by the way, but there's probably more coming. Gonna take a look and see if I can find any wiki too, so I can check the basics myself ;)
