minor spelling-error
« on: November 11, 2007, 04:16:00 pm »

Was browsing through some engravings. One of them said something about "dwarves refusing the dwarf. The dwarf looks dejected"

dejected...? or 'R'ejected?

Ok, this wasn't even worth making a thread for so let me extend it to say: "Great game! Loving every second of it!"

Both words work, although according to an un-verified, electronic source (dictionary.com) rejected might be a little better, as the word's context in the sentence in question may refer to rejected's third definiton:

Dejected.
depressed in spirits; disheartened; low-spirited: The dejected expression on the face of the loser spoiled my victory.

Reject, rejected, rejecting, rejects.
1. To refuse to accept, submit to, believe, or make use of.
2. To refuse to consider or grant; deny.
3. To refuse to recognize or give affection to (a person).

Dejected is correct and fine. Dejected is describing the emotions that the dwarf conveys after being rejected (and that is often how it is used in my experience).   ;)

Sure, rejected might work, but judging by the way Toady has done the rest of the artwork descriptions, dejected is the right word.

As far as it being a spelling error: no, dejected is a word.

In the metalsmithing workshop menu, Stud with Golden should be Stud with Gold.
