>freeformschooler: revive like a bossI have some bad news, everyone. Due to my tablet being busted, I can't really draw pictures for this much any more until arond Christmas when I can get a new tablet. So MKWRTD and RTCA will probably be MOSTLY picture-free for a little-while. Oh well.
Anyone, I'm mostly done converting item & ability statistics to the new system.
Turn 43Location: The Center (Aqua Resort)
Time: Afternoon
Weather: Shadowy
Light: Faint
Turn IntroBradley: Take the Shyguy's mask to remember him by."That was T-T-Taric? Oh, d-d-dear..." Bradley could barely muster up the will to think through what had happened in his head. Not only had someone who understood him just been brutally slaughtered in front of his own eyes, but now a Taric lookalike was running around wreaking havoc.
Bradley fidgeted around with the mask for a moment. "What d-do you think he m-meant by that?" He look around the room, but everyone was just as shocked as he was. In all his emotion, Bradley had forgotten that he had no idea what a Shyguy actually looked like behind its mask. Now that Bradley was holding the mask of the poor Shyguy, he tried to muster up enough respect for the dead to not look down at the body, but his curiosity got the best of him.
Behind the Shyguy's mask, Bradley saw the thing he expected least. He looked away quickly. That must have been why the Taric lookalike killed the poor guy.
What, you thought I was going to show you?
"Let's try this w-way," Bradley realized that there was nothing more he could do here, and elected to head down the darkened northeastern corridor. He hoped the rest of the team would follow him.
When he arrived at the next room, he found himself floating over a long stone bridge suspended over a pool of water. Every few moments, three Thwomps would fall down onto the bridge in quick succession! Bradley could just fly around the thwomps, of course, but the others would have to attempt to cross the bridge safely. He wondered why the Shy Guys would elect to fill The Center with safety hazards if it was such an allegedly luxurious resort!
Oomph: Go through the Shyguys pockets for loot. Respectfully."Oomph will never forget you, Shyperson!" Oomph got a close look at the Shyperson's face as Bradley took its mask off. What a terrible sight! Oomph then rummaged through the Shyguy's pockets, finding in them a
small golden key! Oomph was the best at finding stuff.
"Do not worry, Wimpy ghost Bradely-that was not Taricks, but a hollow represen..er, not-a-person, pretending to be a Taricks. At least, that is Oomphs working theory." As he uttered this, he saw Bradley fly off, so he followed him into the Thwomp-bridge room.
Zachary: Put that brain to work.Being the only
intelligent member of the team, Zach attempted to siphon details out of the elaborate backstory using his cartoon genius power. However, whatever that shadowy jerk was talking about was clearly gibberish.
How could magic have children? It's freaking magic. Zach was sure he was just trying to be mysterious by using weird shadow people names for unimportant plot details or something.
Either way, Zach snapped back to reality and corrected oomph with his cartoon dictionary power, which is a subset of his cartoon genius power.
"The word you were looking for was representation, and I agree with your theory somewhat. It sure didn't look like anyone alive, that's for sure." Zach readied his sword and followed Oomph and Bradley. They were experienced adventurers, so they probably knew which way was best to go.
However, by the time Zach got to where they were, it was already clear they had no idea where they were going. If they did, then why would they have lead Zach to a giant watery deathtrap? Madness.
Zach noticed a lone torch hanging on the wall just a couple of feet from the bridge, providing light to the area. If he could reach it without falling in, he could probably light the rest of the the way.
Joe: Yell AMBUSH and hide behind something.Joe yelled "AMBUSH" and darted behind something. Or he would have, if there was anything in the grand entrance hallway to dart behind.
The only thing he accomplished was hiding his head poorly behind one of the banners hanging from the walls. When he looked out from behind it, the shadowy menace was still gone, and so were most of his team mates. Hm... where'd they run off to?
Amadeus: Follow the group while staying on the lookout for Shyguy masks.Amadeus followed the group to the watery deathtrap. He always wondered how those Thwomps had the energy to go "NNNGUH" every 10 or so seconds for all hours of the day every day. Maybe they only did it when someone was looking. It was unimportant, though, because his main concern had become not being thrown in the water.
Amadeus noticed a few Shyguy masks floating around on top of the water below. He could only assume these were unlucky staff members.

Turn OutroFour of the remaining Heroes discovered that the Center is not quite what the Shyguy host had made it out to be. Could there be some sinister force expecting their entry and trying to keep them out?
Alright, I've come up with a better solution for AV: 1 is always a miss. With +1 AV, a 2 becomes a miss, and so on. If you have five AV, only a 6 can hit you without attack roll bonus, which really doesn't matter because I can't imagine anyone hitting 5 AV without facing enemies with absurd attack bonuses.
