Turn 1

Intro

Location: Mushroom Kingdom - Market Square
Time: Sunrise
Weather: Cool
Light: Plenty

You've all burst into the shops, ready to throw away your money. However, your first impressions may leave a lasting impact on the quality of your gold-traded end goods!

Shop List

Spoiler: Weapons shop (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Armor shop (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Magic shop (click to show/hide)

Results

Taric: Head to the armor shop and buy some bronze armor.

You head into the armor shop, and put in a request for a full set of
bronze armor.
The shopkeeper has a hard time lifting the whole set off the rack, but
manages to get it to you. In hindsight, you might could have helped him out with that.
You're now short 300 gold, but you have armor to wear! You do so. The armor looks great on you! The helm even has a pull-down
face cover.

Bradley: Overcome shyness and buy the elemental book.

You float into the magic shop. Behind the
counter, some grizzly old woman holds close to her two spellbooks, one being the one you
request to buy.
It's almost like she knew you were coming. Regardless, you hand her
the money, and she hands you the Spellbook of the Elements. You're now down to 400 gold,
but you certainly have the book you wanted!

Ochita: I shall enter the armor shop, and buy a flowing robe.

You enter the shop, put your hand on the counter and request one of
the flowing robes.
While you wait, you notice what looks to be a small-sized idiot
playing around with the full-body bronze armor he's wearing. The shopkeeper looks at you a
little funny, and says "But yer' human, ain't ye? This's' only popular with them renegades.
Eh well, it sure is cheap." You happen to know what he's talking about --
humans aren't naturally inclined towards magic, and robes are associated with mage
types. However, for the 100 you acquire the robe and wear it.

Red: Head to the armor shop and buy some bronze armor.

You walk into the armor shop, and the shopkeeper
seems surprised by your charisma. Playing along, you request his "highest order of bronze
armor, straight from the Kingdom's secret armory". You didn't know you'd be taken
literally.
You now are short 300 gold, down to 200, but for that price, you acquired
Bronzelight. The shopkeeper smiles, does his Mushroom Salute, and says "In the name of King Toadstool!". Clearly, this is the kind of thing you're supposed to do when addressing royalty.

Oomph: Push your way to a Spellbook of Healing.

You charge your way into the magic shop, only to knock over several probably magical vases in the process. Insisting that was an accident, you ask to buy a Spellbook of Healing. The grizzly old woman gives it to you, begrudgingly, but not before fining you the price of a Spellbook of the Elements, to cover both her vases and her meals for the next month or so. You're now down 400 gold, but have your healing spellbook! All this happened so fast you didn't even know you got ripped off compared to Radley, now looking through his spellbook.

Fuzz: Head to the weapon shop, buy a Steel Maul.

You enter the shop with your money in hand, planning to throw it over the counter. However, you being a green-shelled koopa, the shopkeeper anticipated your request somehow, and had the two crush-oriented weapons on the counter before you even asked. How attentive! You hand the scruffy Toad shopkeeper the money, and pick up the steel maul. It's a lot less heavy than it looks.

Go out to the square and wait for the others to finish their shopping.
Are there penalties to carrying lots of weight?

Go out to the square and wait for the others to finish their shopping.

I'm done posting OOC tags. Why was I even doing that anyway? I'm not playing a character in the first place.

Anyway, you sure you wanna do that? You have enough money leftover for a robe. Or you could just save it! Who knows when you'll need it.

((Wait is dual wielding weapons allowed? Because I have enough for two swords, may as well just buy both.))

I had actually planned that in advance. Yes and no. You can dual wield with any weapons that are not "large" or "extremely heavy", if they do the same type of damage, for two attacks in one turn... at the cost of a -1 modifier to both rolls.

EDIT: Also I should note that Red is now effectively invincible to unarmed attacks, from behind or the side, when defending by hiding in his shell. Of course, that's a niche situation...

"Th-thank you, ma'am," Bradley said as he floated out, spellbook in hand. Should he buy a weapon or a robe? It was a tough decision! A critical error here might mean doom on the journey. He instinctively covered his eyes in self-inflicted fear as he tried to think it through. Weapon. Right. I'll need something in case I can't cast my spells anymore. He went to the weapons shop and looked around as fast as he could, trying not to take up too much of the owner's time with his browsing. Eventually he picked up an iron club. "Excuse m-me. How m-much is this?" he asked, holding it up for the shopkeeper to see.

Spoiler: OOC (click to show/hide)

I really just wanted a sneak peak, really...I can bind the spellbook on our first travel turn, and buying the weapon will probably fail or backfire anyway if the price gets increased and I don't have extra gold.

Turn 2

Intro

Location: Mushroom Kingdom - Market Square
Time: Morning
Weather: Cool
Light: Plenty

Some people are just more lucky than others! But the excitement is still here. Decked out in full gear, who could possibly stop the lot of you now? No one, that's who. You've only got to the end of the morning to shop, but the sun is high in the sky now, and each minute feels like a second!

Shop List

Spoiler: Armor shop (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Magic shop (click to show/hide)

Results

Taric: Go to the weapon store and buy a bronze spear.

Heading to the weapon shop, you find yourself in the presence of a scruffy Toad, in addition to a comrade already on the way out. You walk over to the counter and find yourself pointing towards a bronze spear on their racks. The scruffy Toad picks it up with ease. You are consistently amazed with how much weight a Toad can lift. Regardless, you feel much acquainted to the weapon already. You can thrust it with ease! That's just the way of the yellow-shells. You hand over your 100 gold.

Bradley: Shyness? What shyness? You need a weapon!

You find your way to the weapon shop, where your friend Taric appears to be flexing a spear with his Koopa muscles. "Excuse m-me. How m-much is this?", you ask, holding up an iron club. The shopkeep looks at you a little warily, almost as if he's just seen a ghost! You put the money down as carefully as possible, and he lets you keep the club. You're now down to nothing. But it was completely worth it! As you would probably say, "N-nothing c-can stop me... now!"

Ochita: To the weapon shop, to buy a good iron lance.

You're inside the weapon shop so fast that you don't even know how you got there. Your money is on the counter, and a lance is in your hand. Clearly, this was a perfectly applicable use of your money. At this point you could feel a little superior to Taric, who probably thinks his puny bronze spear is great, but that's completely up to you! You're now down to nothing and some equipment.

Red: Go to the weapon shop and buy an Iron Shortsword!

You feel invincible as you head into the weapon shop. A whole lot of your friends are there, all wielding different weapons. You're not gonna let them show you up, so you request an iron longsword, the best sword your money can buy. The shopkeep seems impressed with your charisma and confidence, but tells you that 200 gold won't buy a sword that costs 300 gold! The fellow hands you a bronze shortsword for your money, though. You're now down to 100 gold.

Oomph: Locate a sports equipment store.

You bumble around town until you walk directly into the store you didn't expect to find anyway. Inside is sports equipment of all variety. A lakitu mans the counter. You remember hearing tales of how Mario and Luigi spent their free time competing in a wide variety of competetive sports.

Spoiler: Sports equipment shop (click to show/hide)

Fuzz - Go out to the square and wait for the others to finish their shopping.

You head over to the center of Market Square, and accidentally make some poor fellow trip in your excitement. He heads away, but drops the purse he had just stolen from an elderly Toad. The Toad woman rewards you with an extra 200 gold. She tells you she had her only pictures of her son before he went off to war in that purse. You almost refuse, but end up not doing so.
