Turn ResultsRed: Try to earn another 550 coins. You walk out into the street, hoping to find some spare change. Instead, you see just how boring the Mushroom Kingdom is when you're not in a shopping frenzy. Absolutely nothing interesting happens.
You think for a moment that you spot some coins on the side of the street, but it was just some coin-colored trash.Wait. You still have those thorns. Weren't you going to sell them at the magic shop? Err, you mean, Magic Shoppe. Adding an extra consonant and an E improves the legitimacy of a business.
Bradley: Head out and try to find your friends. And bind that book.Done with your shopping, you float out to the main road. Looks like Red is out here, stumbling over himself trying to find some spare change! What could he possibly need it for? Oh well. You don't have any to give him, anyway. You just spent your last money on a new spellbook!
You float over and say hi. Maybe you should head to the town gate, along with him, if he's done shopping.
...Oh, right! You were going to bind that book! You promptly focus your mind onto the Advancing Book of Sparklyflashysomething and bind it. It cuts into your very soul! Which is, inexplicably, not very painful. You've gained three new spells!
You also just remembered that you can sell your Iron Club now, since you gained the Frostknife. Trying to understand your new spells, you get the feeling the the Frostknife would be much more useful to you.Oomph: Sell club, buy armor. That was a very easy transaction. You sell the club, and buy the armor. Now you're a heavily armored Koopaball champion! You head outside, because you're out of money, and there is nothing else to do in the Armor Shoppe. You think the heavily armored shopkeeper might have said "goodbye" under all that armor, but it's hard to tell. You could have been imagining it.
Now that you're outside, you see Bradley and Red. Welp, that's about half the crew, right here. You're just missing Fuzz, Joe and Zachary. Would you like to go wait by the town gate to see if any of them are there already?
Zachary: Try to bargain for the refined sword. You are poor at bargaining! Since you have nothing else to barter with than your coins, your completely cool attitude and a flimsy string of trust, you don't manage to bargain the sword down to 300 coins. The shopkeeper said that would give him a negative profit margin on the item, after all. You decide to buy it anyway.
The shopkeeper hands you the weapon, and you're less 400 coins. You run your hand across the sword. Beautiful. You equip it, too. You hope no one else has forgotten to equip their weapons.
Joe: Help the guard with his missing arm.Well, first of all, you go up to him and ask how he lost his arm. He looks at you with weary eyes.
"There's... there's something... I have to tell you," he says. He falls flat on the ground.
You help him to his feet. This is the face of a warrior whose world has been pulled out from under him.
"They're coming... the shots are coming!" As he says this, he points up to the sky. You don't see anything there,
but you hear in the distance something headed this way. It sounds almost like a cannonball!
The guard coughs up blood. He tries to speak to you again. "Gather up your friends... you have to get out of the Kingdom. Our army will take care of this. Find the Aqua Star!"
Just then, the first shot passed over the gates.
Amadeus: Find Bragley. You head outside the shop, and find Bragley with a look of terror on his face. It takes all of two seconds to figure out what's wrong with him. The Mushroom Kindgom has come under fire!

At least ten had already passed the town gates. The town was starting to catch on fire!
They watched with a look of horror, helpless for once. Behind them, the King and Queen rushed out, barking orders to soldiers. The Queen said something to the King, and he approached the Heroes.
"You have to leave," he said. "It's more important for you to find the Aqua Star than to help us out here. We'll be fine!"
"Go!" The order came from Queen Sarah, who was holding a massive hammer. The King ran off to the side of town, presumably to coordinate the archers. It didn't take the Heroes long to figure out what kind of foe the Kingdom was up against. Far above, in the sky, the cackling of Bowser's finest Magikoopa echoed.
They rushed out, handing their map to Zachary. Amadeus followed them. They had time to get acquainted later. Off past the town gates, and into a field they ran.
A few hours later, they were on the pathway that lead to the Aqua Resort. Something that looked like a blue castle could be seen far in the distance. Perhaps they were getting close?
Zachary told them they were about halfway there, and that they should probably rest. It was getting dark, after all. A nearby forest had littered sticks and logs across the side of the pathway to their destination. They gathered up logs to sit on, and twigs for firewood. Amadeus brushed up against the wood and set a fire for them. Perhaps it was time to get acquainted with each other.
I redid the art for this turn several times until I just was like oh screw it, (almost) text-only turn. I can't keep delaying this. There were several unfinished images, but I may just finish and post them later.
