I think I did say to attack the statue last turn. I can understand why you ignored that command though. Bastard.

Turn 19

Location: Forest of Piranha Plants (various)
Time: Half-past Midnight
Weather: Cold
Light: Still black

Turn Intro

Midnight has come and gone, but the foes awaiting Our Heroes will not be so easily subdued. With the teams beginning to be reunited, though, they'll more easily be able to face their greatest challenge yet.

Out of combat

Turn results

Taric: Screw this. Go the other way.

You head back to the spear room, with a little more spring in your step. As you walk (more like jog) to the second clearing once again, you feel as though the frightening darkness is following you... slowly. When you get there, it looks exactly as you left it, except you notice that some of the weeds under your feet have been turned pitch black.

You see something in the distance. Is that... another pipe?

Player list

Spoiler: Taric (Taricus) (click to show/hide)

Straightforward Soldiers (Fuzz, Red)
vs.
Reborn Rock (Piranha Plant)

Spoiler: Initiative (click to show/hide)

Battle Results

Piranha Plant: Fireball Rain! Set them alight!

The Piranha Plant lifts its head skyward, and belches forth three fireballs into the air! Before Red or Fuzz even have a chance to dodge or react, they're pelted with flame.
-Red's shell somehow makes the entire fireball just glance off. However, when he recovers from his minor fireball-induced daze, he's on fire!
-Fuzz doesn't have anything to protect him, and doesn't have time to dodge. He's struck in the chest with a fireball, and punted backwards from the force. When he gets up, he notices his clothes are flaming!

>RED: ATTACK STATUE

You fly towards the statue using your newfound wings... unfortunately for you, you're not used to them, and you just end up flying straight into a wall. Ow. You take one point of damage. At least you've got Fuzz to back you up.

Fuzz: Fireball!

You appropriately shout "Fireball! and chuck a ball of flame at the Piranha Plant from below! Unfortunately for you, your fireball bounce pattern, plus the spot you're standing at, makes it so that the fireball hits the center of the pipe the Piranha Plant is standing in. It makes a "Fsshhh!" sound and disappears. So much for that plan of action.

Bullies and Bradleys (Oomph, Bradley)
vs.
Flickering Duo (Podoboo 1, Podoboo 2)

Spoiler: Initiative (click to show/hide)

Battle Results

Podoboo 1: Charge towards the green-shelled one!

The first Podoboo to come out of the lava makes a mad charge towards Oomph! However, it misses him entirely, and ends up on the other side of the platform. It looks a little frustrated, and maybe somewhat incompetent, like Oomph.

Bradley: Head back through the pipe.

Tucking your magical mini-forge in Bradleyspace, you head back through the warp pipe. When you come out on the other side, you're highly surprised to see a battle raging between two fire spirits and your pal Oomph! Oh, it's good to see him again, even if he is a little bit mean! For some reason, he makes a really excited wave towards you with his non-wielding arm. It's almost like you're exactly the person he wanted to see this very minute.

Podoboo 2: Podoboo Leap! Knock the white one out of the sky!

The other Podoboo, seeing a new face, leaps straight towards Bradley, interrupting his warm welcome! Bradley gets hit dead center, and is knocked straight out of the sky, taking 5 damage! Bradley looks entirely surprised by this new development, and is stunned. He falls to the ground, also known as the lava platform.

Oomph: MAKE DIPLOMACY.

Oomph stops fighting, holds out his left arm forward, motions everybody to stop, and shouts:

"WAIT!"

Everyone looks surprised. Even the Podoboos stop what they were doing.

"Why we fight? What done wrong? Have we intruded?" continues Oomph, being as assertive and heroic as possible.

Time ticks on for a moment or so, and the Podoboos look visibly startled. Bradley is still reeling.

"Why everyone so hostile? Can't we get along? We're saving Mushroom Kingdoom here! No intention of fighting!" says Oomph. He looks disconcerted. Even the Koopaball champion has clearly had enough for one day.

The Podoboos look to each other, look back to Oomph, and nod. Oomph hears them in his mind: "Intruders. Helping. Not hurting. Understood. Help out. Allies!"

Before Oomph or Bradley can make out what they meant, the Podoboos have leapt back into the lava. Suddenly, with a great shaking, the pipe in the room lowers to an easily climbable level! Meanwhile, in the grand hallway, the pipe the Piranha Plant is fighting out of also lowers, leaving it defenseless.

The fight has been won... but for once, with peace. Just as Mario and Luigi would have wanted it.

The two Podoboos look on just above the surface of the lava. Oomph gets the feeling that they want the kingdom saved too. He also gets the feeling that they're hiding... from something they can't understand.

Turn Outro

What turned out to be one of the most successful, and also least successful, rounds of battle lead to multiple things, including a new alliance. Taric only has one route of escape, but Bradley, Oomph, Fuzz and Red know what they have to now do.

Congratulations! You can now select "Podoboo" as a playable race when creating a character!

Fixed. Also, I dislike putting words in the mouths of your characters, but it was pretty hard not to in this situation.

Also, at this time you can't recruit NPC followers yourselves, but you are free to ask them questions or for help if they can offer it.

I can't think of anything they would know, but I edited my action to give them an epic tale.

Hopefully we have one of those giant army battles in the end where all our allies come together.

Apparently the coolest bro on bay 12 is working on this totally wicked Bradley fan-thing. Bradley gets all of the love.

Anyway how this all ends is one thing I can't drop hints for, not even a little :P

Cool. ^^

Bradley laid on the ground - sort of - with a swirly-eyed expression, having been knocked loopy as soon as he had come out of the pipe, and therefore did not offer any sort of correction or contradictions to Oomph's complete lie... not that he would have even if he was fine, being a wimp and all.

Pff, Serious has put together an elaborate series of emoticons. If you want, Serious, I could make them transparent background emoticons.

Anyway if Darvi posts when he gets back on we can have an update TODAY!

lol. If you want to. ^^ I need to add a swirly-eyes one, but I haven't gotten around to making it yet. I may also resize the current ones 'cause they're a bit small and hard to make out.
