Turn 11

Turn intro

It turns out that puzzles are not quite as easy as they seem.

Taric's team

Team intro

Location: Forest of Piranha Plants
Time: Evening, probably
Weather: Chilly
Light: Peeking through

Team initiative roll

Team results

Taric: DOUBLE JUMP!

You jump into the air and find yourself propelled by an a jarring force upwards in mid flight. You're caught off guard by this but nonetheless come down feet-first on the Piranha Walker's head, making a "PLOP!" noise. You bounce off to the ground, but you could have sworn that you saw a white number two on a red spiky circle things just a moment ago. How odd.

Piranha Walker: Whip it good.

The Piranha Walker suddenly pulls back and spins around, throwing his vines at Taric. Taric is knocked back, but mostly unharmed. Thank goodness for a Koopa shell to keep you from being hurt by the thorny vines! You ended up taking 1 damage anyway. You guess size isn't an indicator of strength!

Team outro

You find yourself still at arms, in a standoff with the jungle monster. Why so soon, though? Was the thing waiting here for you? Was the pipe your entered his/her/its mechanical spiderwebb, waiting to trap unsuspecting adventurers? But, if so, this time the plant was the unsuspecting one, as it got what it probably never expected: a real challenge.

Ochita's team

Team intro

Location: Forest of Piranha Plants
Time: Evening, probably
Weather: Chilly
Light: Moving in a little

Spoiler: Map (click to show/hide)

Team results

Red: Wait it out.

You never were much good at puzzles, so you stand guard in the Pulley Room. Or instead of calling it the Pulley Room, you could just call it "more forest". Nevertheless, you see your friend Ochita struggling with the pulley/scale, so you feel like you probably should help him out. After all, one thing you do know is one of you must weight less than the other! You smile at the idea of helping someone out in a thinking situation for a change.

Ochita: Put your stuff on one side of the scale while you hop on the one leading to the key.

You do exactly as described. However, being one of the largest native races in the world, Human, you far outweigh your meager stuff, and drop to the bottom of the scale. You suddenly realize you are probably going to need a different tactic to combat this.

Team outro

Remember: A puzzle requiring multiple people.

Oomph's team

Team intro

Location: Forest of Piranha Plants
Time: Evening, probably
Weather: Not too bad
Light: More now than a few seconds ago

Spoiler: Map (click to show/hide)

Team results

Bradley: Cast Darkness.

You quite nearly cast your Darkness I spell when you suddenly realize it can't be targeted at anything in particular, and thus is probably of no use in this situation. The effort cost you 1 MP anyway. You see Oomph taking his best shot at the puzzle.

Oomph: Cast Heal at the orb.

You target a Heal I spell at the purple orb. A bust of green and white light envelops it, as with every Heal casting. Comes with the spell, you suppose. You suddenly realize the orb's dark forcefield has not reacted quite yet, and it seems to be dissipating. Within thirty seconds, the orb has completely disappeared! You realize the solution was that the orb was Dark-aligned, and would disippate in reaction to its opposite element.

Fuzz: Head North.

You consider heading north, but you believe it's best to stick with the team leader's decisions of where to go, at least while you're together and safe like you are currently. Besides, now that the orb is gone, Oomph is probably going to want to head somewhere else.

Team outro

To the west, you all hear a rumbling.

I should make an addendum: Everyone follows the party leader, but you can still do something else in the turn in which you follow them. You only actually move during the outro.

"OK," Bradley said with a nervous nod, moving to follow Oomph. I wonder what that orb did...

You are now on the invisible waiting list.

For when someone dies.

Given that one can lay down 500 gold to bring someone else back to life with a green mushroom...that waiting list is looking mighty long, indeed. :3
