Nah. Nuclear war and robotic apocalypse haven't been done yet. In my opinion, nuclear war and robot apocalypses haven't really been... explored, properly.

Y'know guys, I never said the situation had to be restricted to a robot/nuclear apocalypse. I was expecting a bit more creative responses. A nuclear/robot one is still good though, if you guys want.

Okay, let's get a timeline going. Here is my version, I am sticking to it.

Right, it's 2033, and things are going well in America. Robots are becoming smarter and smarter, we're getting more advanced technology and there is new and exciting opportunities in the world of robot-building. However, this utopia isn't really a utopia at all. Outside the borders, the situation is more similar to Children Of Men. Most of the countries have blown themselves apart in World War 3 (Which America did not participate in, despite claims of supplying nuclear arms and taking massive bribes by both sides) and the rest are fighting in World War 4. Combine this with a new nation know as the "New Eurasians" and you got a very big problem on your hands. Eventually, the New Eurasians get their hands on a nuclear armament, and fire it all at the US. Due to M.A.D, the rest of the world gets blown the fuck away while America barely manages to get into Fallout Shelters without dying, and go into cryostatis. During this time, the robots evolve and become smarter and smarter, starting a uprising against the loyalists to the humans and the ones who think that humanity doomed the planet and deserves to die. This fallout shelter was the only one who didn't end up rebelling. Anyone who still in cryostatis and alive at this point was killed, apart from ours. After a period of 40 years, the humans in this shelter are revived and let out. Maybe, just maybe, they can survive and repair the human race. Or die and let the entire thing rot. Depends on what happens first.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how serious is this game supposed to be? I'm sure I can come up with plenty of alternative plots, but most of them will be pretty silly.

About an 8 on the scale, but I guess we can start right now. The next character can come in later, maybe a wanderer from the wastes, or something.

Well, you've all finally remembered basically the thing you least wanted to remember. All of you are still in the bunker, and have no idea what to do. Perhaps you should exchange ideas?

Okay, I got a serious and original plot for you, though it seems like you're already set on the current one. Here it is anyway:

Planet Ziirok was a frigid one, and the first that humans tried to colonize. It came with its own oxygen-rich atmosphere and limited forms of life. Over Ziirok was a constant and violent storm, which let very little light through. Most life forms relied on the storm's byproducts - strange chemicals synthesized naturally by the storm, most of which are unstable on earth. One of the more common chemicals, later called Ziirine, seemed likened to an alien glucose with a variety of biological purposes. Lifeforms that relied on them became known as chemovores - creatures who lived off natural chemicals. Other lifeforms had a more familiar lifestyle - carnivores too existed on this planet, though most, but not all, were too small and weak to hurt a human. Travel through the storm was hazardous at best, and so setting up bases became a high priority.

Soon these bases became settlements, which later became whole self-sustaining cities. What started as research facilities became bustling and complex societies. Then it all went sour.

The storms grew in intensity unexpectedly. Nobody knew what was going on. The humans treated it more as a curiosity than as a danger. That was their failing. Communication with Earth became impossible, and in the distance huge tornadoes became visible. The humans panicked as they received word of cities falling to the massive tornadoes. Some humans went mad, and began attacking one another. No place was safe anymore.

Security droids were mass produced to decrease the chaos. Instead, they increased it. Man's panicking desire for fast security lead to great quantities of defective droids, who failed to distinguish friend from foe. They began killing humans indiscriminately, and soon all of society crumbled. In truth, the tornadoes did not destroy much, at least not directly. Their true threat was that of fear.

Those sane individuals who survived on Ziirok could only hope to wait out the storm. Then, perhaps, they could contact Earth, and leave this god-forsaken planet. Who knows how long the storm will last. Maybe days, or years. All that the survivors knew for sure was they needed a safe haven. They needed... a Community.

EDIT: Wait... I need some reason for mutants. I'll just cop out. Mutants are the result of having pregnant women exposed to Ziirok's many chemicals, which mostly don't seem to affect mature humans. Not all births on Ziirok lead to mutations. A good amount of work was put into mutation prevention, but it was never perfected. Also, if we're sticking with this, I need to change my character. I just realized that plant people won't do well in this kind of place. Oh yeah, and as for food... uh... some animals are edible, though the stuff they eat isn't. We can hunt them, or keep them as livestock. Not sure about water, though. And warmth.

A siphon or a narwall (give me ideas for a description)

A Storm Beast
Storm beasts are a giant flying Carnivore which can somewhat live off the chemical Gustorium (Gu) which only occurs inside the otherworldly storm front, Storm Beasts mostly arrive just about 1 Ziirok hour before the storm arrives.
other creatures like the "Storm Gnat"(insect chemivores that will bite people) or the "Sniffling Gargestblork"(the only name the finder could even think of to describe it [a herbavore]) flee before its deadly might, The only thing it fears is not fire or guns but {entry missing} [please repair creature log]

What is the goal of this game, really?  Are we gonna stay inside the bunker, are we gonna go out and explore, are we going to make a gigantic suicide pact, what?  I just want to know what we'll be doing.
