Say I want to make a grilling floor for goblin invaders; Will heat from magma down a z level heat up metal floor grates to burn things?

It will not warm up the floors IIRC, it will however warm up water so if you can get like 1-2/7 water in there you can cook them I believe

No, the bug was ambient heat from nearby magma being hot enough to melt fat off of living creatures (but only if the creature was wet).
