What is SLASH'EM?

As summarized by the wiki itself:

"SLASH'EM (Super Lotsa Added Stuff Hack - Extended Magic) is a variant of NetHack based on NetHack version 3.4.3. The object of the game is the same: to fetch the Amulet of Yendor from the bottom of the Gehennom and offer it to your god."

What makes it special, you ask?

SLASH'EM contains six new roles and five new races for the player to choose from, several new special levels, several new monsters, new items and new artifacts, and other changes. The main dungeon is longer in SLASH'EM than in NetHack but the Gehennom is shorter.

So, why are you making a let's play?

I have a lot of free time, and I saw no let's play of SLASH'EM here.

Unlike Crawl, which is quite balanced in all aspects and especially the farming aspects, SLASH'EM has a few fixes of vanilla NetHack's exploits, but with that being said, it is possible to farm. My goal is to avoid using exploits and see how far I can go.

Note that it has been a long time since I've last played this, and as such, I know only of the basics. I WILL DIE ALOT in this let's play, so I'm gonna set up a queue to allow you people to choose my class - race combo.

Spoiler: Classes (click to show/hide)

Flame Mage - Pyrokinetics that use fire to their advantage. Combat oriented. Starts with hell hound pup.
Ice Mage - Same as above, except they use ice and they start with a winter wolf cub instead.
Necromancer - Undead oriented wizard. Generally uses the dead to their advantage (hordes of pets). Semi-combat oriented.
Undead Slayer - A not so strong, not too weak class that shines in the mid-to-end game. Combat oriented.
Yeoman - The little brother of the knight class, very similar to the knight class, except that they are more skilled in polearms instead.
All the standard 3.4.3 classes - Many of them have tweaks, like the valkyries starting with a spear instead of a sword.

Doppelganger - Overpowered shapeshifters that gain polymorph control at level 7. Easy race.
Drow - Dark Elves that can put their enemies to sleep with their fists. They are not infravisible, nor do they have infravision.
Hobbit - Short humanoids with the ability to slow down time.
Lycanthrope - Werewolves that periodically change into their werecreature form. Hard race.
Vampires - Flying Humanoids that don't breathe and suck blood. Playing this race offers a very different playstyle, as you will always have to look for nutrition. (they don't eat veggies and corpses.) Very Hard race.
All the standard 3.4.3 races - like the standard classes, many of them have tweaks. Gnomes being able to upgrade their items is one.

Not really sure what to suggest than, but I'll definitely be watching this and I'll have to play SLASH'EM now instead of Nethack for a bit and see how it is.
