Decided to make a little fort, not a succession this time, to promote Slimelands and to have a little fun.

To add a little more interactivity to the fort, I'm heads of <profession>s. Basically, you can dwarf yourself and ask to be head of <something>. If you die, another person can have a chance. What you can do is mandate something to be done (be reasonable, or it won't be done). For example, the head of farming can order the creation of more farming fields. Military can say something like draft more soldiers. Mechanics can even request trap components etc.

So... We've been sent to make an outpost for the mountain homes. I don't really remember why, it all feels so far away now. One moment we were all living somewhat happily, and next we're sent off to the "plain of organization". We only were given the basics: a breeding pair of tank spiders, cap iron tools, seeds, and drink. That's it. That's all they sent us to start the fort... And whatever valuables we had, just a cap iron chain robe for me. I wish we had atyl, even just some fragments. I'm only a bone carver though, I hope there's a metalsmith in our party. An atyl sword... That's all I've wanted for sixty four years. The mountain homes never had atyl.

1st granite

Well, I guess we're finally here. Not too bad of a place, reasonably flat, deep spoil and what looks like lots of minerals underneath. Hopefully, some atyl down there. Looks like we got a free set of water buffalo. I hate them, really hard to carve bones, takes forever. Hey look, some dead stone! Dead stone is igneous, right? Atyl is found in igneous rock...

20th granite

Our hunter has already killed a groundhog! Looks like I have some bones to use. I think I'll make 3 sets of bolts for her to use, and a sword for me. Too bad atyl can't be made from bone...

5th slate
Everything's going fine. Our woodworker, and medic, has been told to make a nest box for our tank spider. I think I'll also just make that area a pasture for our spiders.

Sorry guys, I have to redo this because of a major bug I never found until now (you can use ANY plants to make dwarf cap/iron cap stuff). You'll all get the same jobs, just different original names n stuff.

EDIT: until someone on the modding forums helps me. I can just change the reaction then, and I'll also release a new version of the mod.

I hate water buffalo more than anything. Even cave spiders.

After closer inspection of our original map, I've found that there was only one recorded metal in the shallow area of this land. I saw some gold nuggets where NRDL was digging... We can and will dig deeper, even if it kills us. I must have my sword!

2nd Hematite

So NRDL runs up to me with a smile on his face. "We've struck native gold!" YOU IDIOT. I. WANT. ATYL. Go make me some weapon racks. Don't come back until I get a masterpiece.

Nobody's doing anything but me. I don't like this. Conan, make yourself some wood bolts. Then go hunting. Maybe then we can have something to do. Kel decides to have a break, while we're all sleeping in the dirt. MAKE US SOME BEDS!

1st Malachite

A horse! THAT's what you bring me Conan? Go kill some groundhogs. Or even badgers. Just not these stupid unusable bones! You know what, I'm going to kill a groundhog myself.

10th Malachite
Today, something funny, and amazing happened. Quintuplet tank spiders hatched, and now they're crawling everywhere. I'm going to keep them in our little tank spider pasture for now, maybe later on we can get some war tank spiders. NO HUNTING SPIDERS FOR YOU, CONAN! THAT'S FOR NOT BRINGING BACK WORKABLE BONES! Oh and now you're on break too?
Hm, looks like there are some groundhogs now. I'm going to go hunt one down.

Hunting went pretty well, got two corpses. Now if only somebody could butcher them for me. Looks like our tank spider is laying more eggs. Maybe I can butcher a tank spider baby. Yeah, let's try that...
