Ehh, you know what, I'll add it on, and put the queue into spoilers, forget the ten-combination limit.

Darn it, Kog didn't last even a whole update.
I submit Kogson, Deep Dwarf Assassin.

Update 13!

Current Character: Pacifist the Troll Berserker

Spoiler: Da Queue (click to show/hide)

Welcome back to our Let's Play of Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup! In this episode, I'll actually get to the Lair, and maybe do a level of it.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

We enter D11 and find a steam dragon along with some jackals and orcs. Lovely.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

And two centaurs.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Make that four. I'm guessing there's a centaur warrior leading them.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

So I run away. Even TrBe's know when to run away, shocking as the idea may be.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

SOOO much better.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Even now it's still better.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Case in point. Also that helmet down there is yet another item I can't wear.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

This is Erolcha. Unlike the other uniques we've fought, she's actually a threat. She can cast Lehudib's Crystal Spear, the most powerful single-target conjuration in the game. Or Banishment, which sends us to the Abyss, which is a death sentence at this point. Or just plain Paralyze and beat you down as she does so. Yeah.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I turn on Trog's Hand and I try to paralyze her with my wand, but it does little good. Also she turns invisible, which means that she can't cast either LCS or Banishment. And of course we still have our handy ring.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Flawless victory.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Then I find some orcs, a giant toad, and a deck of cards. Giant toads are like giant frogs, only bigger and just as vanilla. The deck of cards is an evokable item that I'm not going to mess with, it can devastate my character.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

More carnage. Also, poison is really handy, if you don't already know.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I knew I'd have to fight one of these. This is a centaur warrior, and this guy is nasty, look at how much HP he took from me with one shot.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

...I try zapping my wand of polymorph other at him to make him something that can't actually use bows, and he takes TWO shots at me in the same period, bringing my HP to that level. I really have no clue what to do here. Healing potion won't be enough if he can shoot that quickly. Teleport is too slow. I have no blinking scrolls and he'll just catch up to me with speed. If I actually use a potion of speed, he can still shoot. Scroll of fog, maybe?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

And then what? I don't want to come out of the smoke, and teleport is bad when I don't even know what else is on the level, so... Brother in Arms? I also change rings, because now I realize the artifact gives me rF- and the centaur shoots flaming arrows.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I hate centaur warriors. Also, I know that someone is going to pop up and say "if you did X, you would have survived". And if you have such knowledge, by all means tell me.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

At this point we actually do have some fabulous treasure. There's actually more stuff, but I pressed Enter accidentally before I could take a picture of it, sorry.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

And our score. Look at how much better it is then the others. I will get my revenge on centaur warriors one day, I will promise that much.

Spoiler: Morgue File (click to show/hide)

I think that's enough for today.

EDIT: Wait a minute. This update is update 13... of course, of course.

Doctor Hans, prepare for the operation.

As soon as you got shot, you should of taken off your rF- ring. In fact, walking around with it on was a mistake to begin with. Fog scroll was a good call, although it might of been smarter to of just taken a step back into the fog to see if you could block the centaur's LOS.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Yeah, I just totally forgot about the ring. Still, even without it, I still took 20ish damage with each shot, so I'm not sure how much that would have changed. I wonder if I should have just quaffed speed and charged.

Giving it more shots against you?

Quaff speed, fog, and teleport scroll or something?

I don't know.

Yeah, against something with that much of an advantage over you, you could quaff speed and might and berserk over, or quaff speed, read teleport scroll, and pray you get out before death happens.

Berserk already gives you speed and might. In fact, berserk makes you faster than speed.

It does? Huh. I thought they stacked. >.>

Well, you should have berserked over, and prayed he didn't kill you. I'm not sure why you just sat there like a sitting duck though.

Yeah.

Its a shame that when I needed to use berserk, it didn't work

I don't know, for some weird reason I thought it might make me vulnerable. And I guess that it would have been true in that I might draw more monsters, but in retrospect it was better then sitting around and doing nothing.

Update 14!

Current Character: Doctor Hans the Octopode Transmuter

Spoiler: Da Queue (click to show/hide)

(Note: For this character, I think I'll experiment with narrative commentary. If you guys don't like it, then I'll go back to the regular commentary.)

The Journal of Doctor Hans, MD, PhD, Esq.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

So today I arrived in this dank and totally unsanitary dungeon, ready to throw my life away in order to find a mythical artifact known as "The Orb of Zot". Why would a wealthy and respected man like me do that? Well, back in the University, they found out the kinds of experiments I did and my "violations" of the Hippocratic Oath, and those Elyvilon worshiping pussies in charge threatened to revoke my titles if I didn't go in this dungeon and find "The Orb of Zot". Asking around, I found out that this dungeon was supposedly a death sentence, but I decided to soldier on anyways. I need my respect and my titles, I won't live as a nobody. For the journey, I carried along some food and regents for some of the very spells the ones at the University tried to revoke my titles for, as well as the actual spellbook. Why? The simple purpose of spite, of course.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

By that, of course I mean Fulsome Distillation. You can call it desecration for all I care, but it's a remarkably versatile spell along with my other spell, Evaporation. I can't seem to memorize Evaporation right now though, so I'll memorize it later.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Why did it have to be a rat? Nasty nasty creatures and plague spreaders, I wish I had my bottle of rat poison with me. I suppose I do have poison, but it won't do any good without Evaporation.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Even though I am a doctor and a professional, I am still skilled in the ancient art of Octopode-fu.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Hmm, although this place is awfully grimy, it seems to have a good decoration scheme.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

A snake, although it's a small one. I hate them all, snakes.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

My Octopode-fu is strong. It managed to get a painful little bite out of me, though.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I then found this fellow. He doesn't look terribly friendly.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

By my eight-tentacled ancestors, that hurt!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

But my Octopode-fu is stronger then their Octopode-fu.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I then turn his corpse into a potion. This will come in handy, soon enough.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

What is this curious structure? Are those walls made out of...  WAX?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Must be some weird ancient ritual site or something. I've got nothing.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

A scroll of magical literature, usually handy enough.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

A bat? Always have detested these pests.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I then find anther ruffian and a fine robe. It's a shame I can't wear it.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

They both had weak Octopode-fu.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I distill the ruffian's corpse into poison. Funny how that works.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

After exploring this level a bit, I find a bat with weak Octopode-fu. Upon killing it, I feel like I've increased my level of experience, or something. An odd sensation, actually.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I can now evaporate potions. I could also learn how to turn Sticks into Snakes, but I've never really liked doing that.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I find an odd bunker and a potion inside it. Who builds bunkers inside an underground dungeon? I really have no idea.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I find myself at a juncture near a rat and a ruffian. This could take some serious Octopode-fu.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Once again, I prove that my Octopode-fu is superior.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I decide to turn the rat's corpse into water, for practice if nothing else. Water is hardly useless, although for some odd reason I don't feel the need to drink. I can always turn it into steam in a pinch.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

My first ring, made out of a nice ivory to boot. I think I'll try it on, being a lover of jewellery but having left behind my collection at home.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It makes me feel more intelligent. Not a bad ring at all.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

This is quite possibly the most disgusting sight I've ever seen in my life.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Naturally, I dispose of it.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

And then I turn the corpse into a potion for good measure.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I then kill more pests and ruffians before I feel hungry. Hmm.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Scratch that, I'm very hungry. Don't want to eat any bread though, maybe there's food down below?

Wait wait wait.

Why would he get a medical doctorate and a physics doctorate? They have nothing in common! What was he thinking...

Also, if you don't mind, and ooc bit explaining the biggest events that happened at the end would be nice, in case that silly octopode's squeamishness gets something confused.
