Are buildings hidden until built, or how exactly do they work?

Hidden? What do you mean? You won't know that someone's built something until you run into it. If you mean the descriptions for buildings, I add those to the OP when I think to. If you want me to add something, just ask.

Sure. as for the lake, yes, but it's not cheap. That would require a whole lot of wood to make pilings, and you'd need to rebuild the place every often, what with the sinking. And you'd need to do a whole lot of reinforcing to build anything large or sturdy. So while possible, it's not remotely practical.

Also, for the rest of you, here's an interesting event that adwarf ran into. We RP'ed it by PM and I am posting the transcript here for the rest of you.

You can have Miners/Farmers?

Well, anyway Lord Taric I was hoping you would move near us. We have food aplenty, but shall need wood for our homes.

"Men, look at that wheat and those lentils! We shall not go hungry anymore. I want 4 of you to plant the last field with onions, leeks, herbs and all kind of vegetables, to bring some diversity to our diet.

The landscapers will prepare the land for a large housing building containing 30 bedrooms. The other 13 of you will go and gather more wood."

your units can indeed have multiple specialties, although gathering labors are easiest, because the specialized gathering labors do not require the gathering skill. the building and crafting specialties require the building and crafting skills, and as such you can't bring units with more than one of those specialties in the beginning. Also note that because his units do not have gathering, they will only work at the laboring 50% in gathering skills other than the ones they have as specialties.

on another note, Toaster is away for a few days right now, right?

PFP, but back tonight. I can flesh things out then.

" Romulus, is it?  Your men are more than welcome here if you can work!  We're a bit tight on food, so if you can have yours gather that, we're getting our buildings up.

Something strange in the forest?  I'll let the men know to steer clear until we know what we're dealing with"

"Let's go!"

Builders build housing.
Farmers hunt with bows.
Miners mine and choppers chop.

" I wish to put a law in action regarding the forests to the Southwest. All that harm any trees of the forests there will be sentenced to death this is for both their safety, and I have also promised the keeper of the forest that I would do so, and thus I will keep my promise." said Romulus
