Bloody organs
« on: November 11, 2007, 12:06:00 am »

this dwarf(and all my animals) is completely covered in lizard blood from a lizard that got smashed in the door then tracked around. somehow he seems to have also gotten blood on his pancreas.

another odd thing, he is completely naked. its autumn of the first year, and there are no clothes lying around anywhere. all my other dwarves are fully clothed and only have blood on their shoes.

This happens when there are 2 creatures in the same square and you use 'v' to toggle between them. Sometimes it still shows the old inventory (the bloodsplatters on an animal) for the newly selected creature. I also had my game crash once while using 'v' to switch between a dwarf and a dog on the inventory page, so it's probably more than just a display bug.

ok yea, ive been testing this and its more than just a display bug

if you go to 2 things on top of each other, either an animal and a dwarf or 2 different animals, and the animal has splatter on it, and start on the animal's inventory screen, then hit v, it shows the dwarf/other animal covered in splatter as well, but in odd places(ive seen pancreas, spleen, brain, left and right kidney, left and right lung, and "body part")

if you start on the dwarf's inventory screen(so showing clothes) and switch to the animal, it cant show clothes on the animal and crashes immediately

ive found this to be a consistent crash

it would seem that the display bug trying to convert splatter to the other creature finds different body parts, so puts them on other things instead(a dwarf doesnt have a hoof, so it puts it on the dwarves kidney), since splatter can go on pretty much anything. clothes however have specific things they go on, so when you try to switch from a dwarf to an animal, it cant put pants on a liver, so crashes
