Presuming I'm interpreting the re-votes correctly, Excalibur was the most popular option. I like hellhounds anyway.
Lucan: These are the foothills of Mount Olympus - abode of the Gods!
Cornelius: The Gods! Do they still dwell here?
Hermes: Who can say? The Overlord may have overwhelmed even their power!
Lucan: Your raven carries a pessimistic air, Cornelius.
Cornelius: My raven? But I thought Hermes was your familiar.
Lucan: Certainly not, I favour feline guile to aid my magic, not a feather brain bird!
Hermes: Save your insults, old man. First you must reckon with Odysseus, the guardian of Olympus.Hm. I wonder if Hermes has his own agenda?
This region is rather frantic so excuse me if things seem a bit chaotic. Lucan's certainly stronger than he was in Joyous Garde - probably because he actually has mana now - often using trolls and Bloodlust. But where's Percival?
Loads of neutral fauns around here. I try to get rid of them, but...
...then Odysseus comes shooting past. Seems he likes haste.
Nevertheless, I mainly succeed in zoning him. He gets off a good ten fireballs in the process.
Iron Skin renders him absurdly tough so there's little point in me hanging around. I back off for now and catch up to Lucan.
More fauns.
Gah, I nearly had him! There's no catching him once he accelerates.
Lucan's keen on taking over this map, but Odysseus has disappeared entirely.
Show yourself...
He's holed up in his temple and it doesn't look like he's thinking of moving.
As the Grimoire said, these statues are enchanted and blast us with lightning as we approach. There has to be another way in, or a way of switching them off, or something.
The temple has a full roof so I couldn't fly anything in even if I was using something with that ability.
You don't say.
As is typical in this game, the statues completely ignore Lucan's creatures. Not like he's interested in mounting a major assault.
Maybe taking the last couple places of power will do something.
Doesn't look like it, but there's something over there.
Odysseus casts this spell as I'm leaving. Looks impressive.
Doesn't look like it'll be of any help in the present situation, but I'll check it out nonetheless.
Well... I can't walk in there. I can't attack the jug. I can summon a creature in there, but they can't pick up sprites. I don't have any way of burning the place down.
welp
A hellhound succeeds in getting past the statues, albeit with low health. Looks like just rushing the temple might work, but it'd be costly.
Blasting the statues with lightning does nothing interesting.
I can, however, summon creatures over this rockface. It's probably a bug, but in the face of having nothing better to do, I might use it.
The hounds didn't get far anyway.
I try summoning creatures in these shrine-like buildings and killing them as sacrifices but nothing happens.
I finally get hit by this spell. It vacuums half of my hellhounds up and...
...throws them all over the map. Could be problematic if we see it again.
I try stepping off my place of power for a moment to see if it baits Odysseus out. Lucan stirs, but the mark doesn't.
One save-reload later and Odysseus is suddenly active. He still doesn't move, just sends his minions after me.
Bah, I'll just kill him.
Lucan doesn't seem to mind if I shove his summons off places.
In fact, doing so prompts his troll to go on a rampage.
It's just a matter of getting one in there...
Hah! Got you now!
You didn't even introduce yourself...
Cornelius: Thank the powers, we have prevailed! But hold... where was Percival?
Hermes: As you arrived in the mountains, he went his own way.
Cornelius: Does he begrudge me the Grail?
Hermes: I would surmise as much.Okay, now I would be very much surprised if Hermes didn't have his own agenda.
The portal appeared inside the temple, so there's only one thing for it...
Done. That took longer than it needed to.
