I didn't use all of my available experience here as I think there's a new ingedient in the next region and I wasn't sure how much experience I'd get.
Is that a crocodile? That had better not be a crocodile.
I guess this is just the game's slightly hamfisted way of reminding you that Percival can't control places of power.
Cornelius: Of course, my friend.
Percival: That island carries a Place of Power. We should investigate.
Hermes: Beware the water, Cornelius - it has many teeth! (Yes, thank you, I've noticed)
Percival characteristically scoots off on his own. Damn, these things are tough.
Run run run run run
Cornelius: That sounds like Twigkindle!(transcription missing)
Cornelius: Once is happenstance, sire. Twice looks like carelessness!
Twigkindle: I was heading for Apple Tree Orchard to rally my people there, but lost my way...
Twigkindle: ...then I was ambushed by Dagda's minions and imprisioned in this wretched shack.
Twigkindle: The unholy fiend promised to roast me alive and suck the marrow from my bones!
Cornelius: I think it's time for a reckoning with this foul wretch Dagda!
Twigkindle: They say his cruelty stems from fear of losing his cauldron of gold.
Cornelius: Could this cauldron be the Grail we seek?
Twigkindle: Another quest, eh? Here, take my Seven League Boots - they will help outrun Dagda's levitation traps.
Cornelius: My thanks, sire. Now, you should seek refuge until we have the Grail.
Twigkindle: You have much courage Cornelius... and may yet rid us of another tyrant!
Cornelius: He'll know my wrath before the day is out!
Percival: To the Grail! This walkway is a gauntlet of redcaps. Not like they're too strong.
The path I took collapses under me, but Percival's having better luck.
Go on, lad! You can do it!
...somehow I don't think that was a good thing.
Percival: It's no good Cornelius, I can go no further.
Percival: I will return to defend the place of power.Using the boots hastes Cornelius, making him fast enough to dodge the traps.
I dump a redcap here and get past the second trap before the haste wears off.
These pestilence totems built themselves as I passed. They (naturally) have a pestilence aura that diseases nearby creatures. You'll be seeing a lot of that here.
Pestilence spreads between creatures at close proximity. It causes continuous damage over time and takes a fair while to go away. Heal removes it completely.
That's a phoenix. You'll be seeing plenty of those as well.
A wandering redcap is attacking Twigkindle, but Percival doesn't seem to care. I don't suppose I should've expected anything less.
I suppose that means I should go for the one on the right...?
That phoenix doesn't look healthy...
Dagda: Your wake shall be my banquet! Into the pot with him!
Cornelius: Here's a meal that will disagree with you, cannibal fiend!Kaboom. Yep, they blow up when they die.
I didn't even touch it! Honest!
Oh for God's...
ATTEMPT 2
Fucking redcaps man

ATTEMPT 3
I'm not bothering with that bridge any more.
I kited these crocs for a while. Basilisk venom damage really adds up.
Haha, would you look at that. Percival actually fighting something.
Even then I have to step in when he gets scared.
I'll take things more slowly this time.
Now might be a good time to run...
WHY DOES THIS CHEST EXPLODE WHEN I DON'T EVEN TRY TO OPEN IT
So much rage.
ATTEMPT 4
Percival's having fun with the wildlife.
Sorry, but this is just too hilarious to pass up on.
Oh come on, I even had the boots activated!
This time I'll run in, get the grail, and get out.
Now for stage 2: Infiltration.
He's coming round the other way?
Well, shit.
An errant phoenix left a hole in the palisade, giving me foot access...
And he's down, at last.
Wait, what?
Hermes: It is unstable, and will disappear after a while.
You must leave before your time runs out - watch the clock.Damn, he did drop an ingredient.
Not enough time...
ATTEMPT 5: SAVESCUM EDITION
This time I'll be taking the fight to Dagda.
Crap he's coming
...and he just walks right past me. Okay.
Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity?
And it looks as though the elves've got him.
Come on, run!
Run!
Yes! Made it!
Or... not.

ATTEMPT 6: SAVESCUM EDITION 2: THE SCUM STRIKES BACK
ATTEMPT 7: SAVESCUM EXTREME: THE SCUMMENING
I wonder what happens if you just assault Dagda's place over the walls without stealing the Grail.
...he just... appears out of nowhere with no dialogue or anything.
I try to get the Grail while he's distracted but end up running right into him.
Yet another wizard falls to the might of elfblock.
Apparently killing him before getting the Grail doesn't cause the portal to appear. That makes things much easier.
And finally, we leave the marshes with a long parting shot of Percival, observed in his natural habitat, fruitlessly attempting to dismember a crocodile.
