Dwarfs Aren't Deconstructing
« on: June 21, 2011, 08:16:49 pm »

See topic. I've got a small section of fortifications that I want deconstructed, and my dwarves aren't doing it. It's totally accessible, no longer under water, but they still aren't working on it. It is under and supporting another section, but it isn't the only means of support. I can find no reason they should be so reluctant. Anybody else know why this should be so?

Okay, try these:
1. [m]-[j] to see if the jobs are being recorded
2. Build a construction to see if it is accessible

You said it's no longer under water... Through what means did it cease being underwater? If you used DFHack to remove the water, the pathing algorithm might not have updated to realize that the water is gone. To fix it, add 2-depth water to the area and then one or more 1-depth waters so the place dries out naturally.

Alternatively, do you have burrows active that might be forbidding your dwarves from going to the job sites?

No burrows, but DFHack is probably the problem. I did use it, and it occurred to me after posting this that pathing might be the problem.

Just tried it, IT WORKS! Thank you, I love you forever.
