You perfectly emulate the former Mister Donnes, down to his quirks. You spend a week back in that maze but now on the other side, watching, learning. Here is what you learn.

What little you got was separated by tons of speculation and rumors. You need a person higher on the food chain to be able to get more valid information. But, here is what you learned so far, which you take with a grain of salt.

This company is big. Very big. Most of the free market is owned by them. In fact, some of them control the US government, and are responsible for all the cover-ups in history. They were founded in the ninth century AD in the Middle East, transferring to Europe via The Crusades. They are very brutal, and will happily disappear anyone and anything that doesn't seem like it's following their plans. If they can't disappear something, they kill it. The JFK assassination was their most famous one. They are secretly controlled by unknown beings outside our conceptions of space and time, and they have assess to technology beyond our means. If you disobey them, no-one will remember you. No-one knows how they do this, but it has happened before, and the thing that makes people forget doesn't work on one person in a million, nor Subjects. The Subject Experiment is a way to find out how far humanity can stretch itself before it can't be declared human anymore. It's organized in an alphabetical system. Subject-As aren't that different from humans except for one power and maybe a chance to mutate their powers, and Subject-Zs are essentially gods.

It's all very intriguing, but you can't get much more then that. What parts are real and which do you think are false?

(Ye didn't wait long enough; people get on at many different times, and I would've posted regardless.
Also, were they surrounding him eariler? A terrified mouse would freeze at first, but the instant it thought it would be attacked it would bolt out of there along the shortest, safest route. You just don't get a chance to do anything when you try to catch a mouse by hand.)

How can you know which are real and which are false? Well, the stuff about history doesn't really matter, only this company's current power and state does. We know we have cool powers, and we know these guys deal with cool powers, so it makes sense there are greater and cooler powers about, but it's also possible that there haven't been any powers past "E" on that scale yet. We know that they have this one facility, and it contains a horror maze with some number of subjects that, in all probability, are allowed to escape sometimes for "real world tests" or something similar. These sorts of people very likely had cameras in the elevator you used, and guards on hand to run after and tackle you before you got 15 meters away. So as far as guards and basic manegement are concerned, you proved yourself not to be very useful by settling down, thus failing your test and deserving death (with one last chance at redemption). However, if there are entities from beyond outside the bounds of normal physics (guiding the company and world), they probably know what you've done and consider it a little (happenstance|step in the plan). They (we?) may or may not tell any of their puppets, including you, but that doesn't really matter yet; just try to do your best.
We know that our powers take energy and control; they can be pretty hard on us. So, remeniscent of the whole "with great power comes great responsibility", the higher powers will probably take more energy and control, and the god-powers would require ridiculous amounts of energy and inherently superhuman amounts of control. So if there are "subject-Zs", they must have at least one way of using energy outside their relatively tiny bodies, and have control systems secondary to their brain to handle it all.

So obviously, your next step is to find someone who doesn't use their brain much, then see if you can get it to produce energy for you during the lull times, or act as an extention to your mind with the off parts.

Edit: Read the quote below to see what I mangled.

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

Drawing energy from another person's mind?  Sweet.  The best option is a comatose person.

(They weren't surrounding him. It's was a mouse.)

You are extremely confused by the voices. You can't draw energy from someone's mind... Yet.

Wait, something has come up. A mission, the first one in a week. You will apparently be working with a force known as the I.R.I.S to take down a Subject known as... The Hidden. He has been granted super speed, super strength and invisibility. He can and has been shown to wipe out entire teams of heavily armed soldiers using only a knife and three makeshift pipe-bombs. He is quite possibly the biggest threat to the company, rending entire buildings (And a docked ship) impossible to use due to incredible danger.

This is going to be interesting to say the least.

Well, you don't know if you can until you try! So, for this next mission; first, how long is your telepathic range? Second, do you actually want to survive? If this guy kills you, he will become you, and you might very well get his powers...or go without them, be discovered as a body jumper, and sent to die of exposure in some desolate part of the world. We should also consider that it's likely that your mind degrades every time you die, and it probably will only take a few times before you aren't really yourself anymore.
Also, did your boss tell you Hidden is the biggest threat, or is that the word going around?

What is it with all these evil multinational orginisations and only having teams of normal soldiers to clear up the super monsters they create?
You'd have thought they'd have built a cortex bomb or developed some other way to control dangerously powerfull tests.

They probably just expect monsters to do the usual thing when released. Go on a rampage, get pacified by the security officers, get captured again or get shot in the head. It was you that is truly unique. Also, you feel kinda insulted being called a monster, even a super one. Your telepathtic range is about one mile, but if you went that far your head would probably explode. You want to survive, because this Hidden is apparently more nuttier then a shithouse rat, and you don't wanna take any chances.  Your boss didn't say that. It was mostly the other guys blessing themselves and crying that did it for you.

You decide to ignore the voices until the mission. This is probably serious, and you need some quiet time.

*

You welcome back the voices on the trip to the Executive Tower of Infinitum Research. In the former Josef's memories, you can see that he heard that the I.R.I.S's were quite badass, which makes sense since Joe was a security guard and these guys are a multinational group. This Infinitum Research just seems to be the genetics part of all this. Your DNA code is most probably stored here. Maybe you can find some backstory to all this. The I.R.I.S guys seem oddly uncomfortable around you. They keep their eyes away, and seem to be emulating everyone's mood around a convicted serial rapist. This is... Weird.

Oh dear... These Security guys... Holy fucking shit.

Shit... I am getting freaked out here...

Fuck... One of them is looking at me! These guys are psychopaths!

Are you only capable of hearing their immediate thoughts?  What I mean is, you can't see their memories or anything, just what they're thinking at the moment?

(Time to think Josef Donnes' thoughts now.) You're on a terrible assignment and you're high strung. There's nothing weird about that, and these mind readers wont kill you for it or decide to send you where you're over your head. Relax.

Yeah, their immediate thoughts. No memories unless you get killed by them.

Right, the helicopter has landed. You are about to enter the building. The eternal question: Shotgun or Machine Gun?

(Anyone know what game I am tying in with this? Anyone?)

Shotgun.  It sounds like we'll need stopping power to defeat this Hidden person.  And I do not know what reference you are trying to make.

I also say shotgun, but for buck shot spread, not slug power. This guys super-strength shouldn't protect him from bullet damage all that much, but speed and invisibility...

If it's a reference to a popular video game, I might not have even heard of it; there are a lot of different stories this one has elements from.

(More people should know about this.)

You grab the shotgun and head in.

Hey, looks like this thing has a laser sight. Nice.

This is odd. There isn't any blood, or damage to speak of. Everything seems... Fine. Just another normal office building. This Hidden guy didn't even do any damage at all. It just seems like he is just... Provoking you.

Hey, wait a second... Was that the sound of metal bouncing?

The pipe-bomb goes off, killing about 90% of the entire squad, leaving you. A man, wearing a similar jumpsuit to yours when you were still yourself but with no trousers looks at you. Or not because his eyes are covered with a bandage. He was smiling madly before, but now he is frowning.

Brother... His voice is strange, what you would expect a ghost's voice to be like. You can see me. I can tell by the look on your face. That is not the look of a scared rat.

Keep the shotgun primed and aimed at this creepy dude, and try to read his mind as much as physically possible.
