Well, shit. Try telepathy - just something minor. Try to make one of the officers hear 'you' running away/some noise from outside to get some of them to leave.

In the darkness, you can hear the muffled voices of the officers.

"Sir, I think I heard gunfire..."

"Gunfire? How loud was it?"

"Not very. Almost silent, but it was there. It's probably a very good silencer on a low-caliber weapon, but it's still a threat. I think Subject-B is outside."

"I guess we gotta check it out, just to make sure."

They run off to the outside. Shit, you gotta go soon!

Mind Voice 7, here! Sneak a look to see if they all left; it's weird they'd didn't leave a single member to guard the house, and they could have methods of blocking your abilities. If you have time, grab money, a coat, a knife, a pack, and a hat (in descending order of importance). If you have more time, fill the pack with edibles from the kitchen. Don't bother picking and choosing if there are a lot of different things, just dump it in and go.

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

Are there even items like that in the house?

Alright, got it. You slowly open the cupboard door. Oh those smart fuckers. They are still searching the house, just quietly now! It was just a trap! You should have really guessed that. Hey, these guys are told you are a mind reader, it's not exactly impossible for you to trick them. Well, I guess you have to stealth your way through. Glad they aren't looking directly at you.

Just try to sneak past them.  BTW Fniff, are you using dice to determine the outcome, or are you intentionally screwing with the subject?

(A combination of both. You guys were lucky, I rolled to see if they were looking directly at you.)

You slowly open the cabinet door fully, and move out. You crawl your way towards the door, making as little noise as possible. Your heart drops when you hear the sound of someone saying "Hey, something just moved there." They walk over, and check you out.

"There isn't anything here but a terrified mouse!" One of the soldiers laughs.

"Well, I thought it was something else. Ever hear of cautious judgement, asshole?"

Hmm. Looks like your powers just developed.

Keep feeling like a terrified mouse and run the instant they move again; imagine the sound of your skittering paws across the floor and the grey blur you must look like.

You make distant scream. They don't really seem to care. They seem pretty calm, actually.

You manage to spend a low amount of energy into squeaking and running across the floor. It's all fine until you bump into a soldier. Your transformation disipates, and you are now standing one meter away from the door, surrounded by a lot of soldiers.

Do your best to make them think you're some sort of all-consuming monster that will eat them.  I don't care how much energy it takes, just do it, and worry about exhaustion and depletion later.  Besides, shouldn't the subject be healthier considering he's managed to live in decent conditions for the past month?

(Yep. Most of his nourishment is gone.)

You scream loudly and aggressively, and attempt to lift the soldier you bumped into off the floor. You fail, since (surprisingly) lifting a 200 pound heavily muscled soldier off the ground is hard. They laugh, and then aim their guns at you.

Surrender, so they won't kill you.  Their goal is to take you alive right?  If that is the case, then they'll just bring you back to the hellhole you came from.  Keep an eye out for any opportunity to escape.

You put your hands up in surrender, and you are dragged out. They put a gun to your head.

"Hey! I thought orders were to not kill me! What is going on?" You ask, confused.

"Well, orders have changed. You are an uncontrollable, pretty much useless asset, so getting rid of you won't disrupt much. We have about a hundred, much better versions of you, and millions more in vats. Goodnight." The last thing you hear is the gun firing.

GAME OVER

Continue? Y/N

Y

Whoa... You feel really out of place for a second. What just happened? You remember dying... But what happened?

You look down at your body. You seem to be the soldier who just shot you. His memories blend with yours, but you separate them. What are they...

Josef Donnes was a 28 year old former US military sergeant, who was court-marshaled due to war crime. (He seems to have completely blocked out what he did. Huh) He has a girlfriend named Jane (They joke about by calling each other "GI Jane/Joe") and enjoys television, Warhammer 40k (He joined whatever corperation wants you dead so he could get money for his hobby) and writing fanfiction about 40k.

Holy... You must have... You transferred your mind to your murderer's in self defense! Holy rapping Christ, that is amazing!

Wow, that is an awesome way to savescumm.  Ok, so you're now in this guy's body.  He is a fit 28 year old soldier, and apparently you have his memories ( the memories he hasn't blocked out anyway ) so I'm guessing you have absorbed his combat training, and if anyone asks you a question, you actually know what this guy would say.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

So just go along with it and try to blend in.  Find out who sent these jarheads.
