Coal Seam Fires!  So very dwarven to have a burning fire that can't be put out.

You need to make said elf leather into the most amazing work of art.  Embed it with every kind of gem you have, stud it with metals, and sew images into it.  Erect a shrine outside your fort with that in the center.  Let the elves know that you view their very skin as naught more but a medium for your dwarves to work on.

The air zone within this mine is closed for helicopters - a few accidents occurred when they were "sucked in" by downward air flow.
:o Now that's dwarfy. If only DF simulated gas flows as well.

Urist McSentry: Harpies! Pull the lever #45-B!
Urist McLeverpuller: Pulled! The pit is open!
Harpy has died after colliding with an obstacle x 12

Cool, huh? The problem is that we might stumble with an underground circus while digging it.

Also, we could invert it putting magma at the bottom to make the heat make an upwards current...
Shit. I just had an idea for a magma cannon...

You're thinking too small. A clown cannon. Especially awesome once the worldmap and army arcs get coded in. Besieged by a huge goblin/elf/human army? No problem. "Fire the Hellstorm Cannon!"  :D
