Well, here's one I fished out from somewhere in the middle of the MM1 first world:

Quote
[1]: The character will do something VERY detrimental to the players. From going on a muderous rampage to destroying something the players need.
[2]: The character will do something detrimental to the players, and beneficial to him. Attempting to steal someone's item, killing a friendly NPC, pulling a lever that opens the exit and closes the treasure room with all the players, they all go here.
[3]: The character will do something for himself, without specifically aiming to do anything to anyone. Excercising, gaining skills, picking up equipment, just killing a horde of elves because they happen to be there, all fit here.
[4]: The character will do something that benefits him and the players both, usually helping in an action or just doing something the rest of the team is doing.
[5]: The character will do something beneficial to the players most. Finding a hidden button to stop some deathtrap, endangering himself to heal someone, etc.
[6]: The character will do something good for the team, but will be very excessive in his approach to the problem. Shooting a closed door with a rocket launcher to open it or summoning a nuke to destroy a nearby band of brigands will go here.

As for the Starcraft world, that was Multiworld Menace. I guess I could look back through PMs...

And another update! You're heading into a bit of a talky segment, so feel free to throw whatever questions you think you might get answered, and we might get this part over with quickly. I won't do rolls for dialogue this time, so normal actions should be something besides talking.

   Huh, I managed to make my action even more of a wall of text then any action I have taken before. Soon enough my actions will be so long they will blot out the sun so we will have to play in the shade.

Shorten it.

   Why would I want to? It say what action I want my character to take in the least amount of words I could fit it in and not lose any of the detail. I took a good bit of time working on it to get it that short actually. I had a truly monstrous amount of text where I basically spelled out everything to an absurd amount and this is after I cut out a good bit so yeah.

You really do overthink these things. :) Holey carp that's a whole finite state machine there. It's quite alright if you want to be detailed though, just look into some formatting conventions. It's one of those cases where separating each sentence into its own paragraph would make the whole thing much more comprehensible.

i.e.
<Action>
<if something, Action2>
<if something else, Action3>
<if something else but another thing, Action2 with a bit of Action4>

It's just hard to see breaks between clauses when it's all in one huge text block.

Okay, I can do that just fine. I will go and reformat my action a little bit.

Edit: Hmm, I think I made it look worse though at least now it show the flow of the thing better. I might change it to look more understandably later but yeah I think I just made this action really complicated. If I can get the gaurentee that the tea is in no way tampered with so as to cause a bad effect to me I would gladly just change my action to drink the tea while listening to the story and observing the room.

Heh, I didn't mean literally like that, but oh well. It's quite readable to me, because I have programming experience. :P

For future reference, just paragraphs and breaks will do. ;)

And where would be the fun in having a suspicious old man offer you a tray of herbal tea if you would be sure it's not poisoned at all? :P

   Its somewhat amazing how many people that frequent the Bay12 forums are programmers or dabble in it. I myself am going to college at the moment for it and I would almost be willing to bet at least one other person in this thing is a programmer of some sort, maybe more.

And finally, Update.

I really dislike talky bits. They're both hard to write properly and required for having more than an excuse plot for the adventure. -_-
