I'd keep my hands over having magic personally. Sure magic has it's advantages, but we were designed to have hands for many good reasons, namely because they work so damn well. And I still don't agree with how 'normal' ponies are usually immensely strong, easily outclassing humans in strength despite them being so small. Their bodies just aren't designed to be so strong with such small bodies and we aren't as weak as we look! Must be that dang magic again...

And yes, I've got ponies on the brain far too much I think. The show just sticks in my mind for some reason and I can't help but like it somehow...

Sean I was wondering, do we have to keep all the specalized gear and losing items malarkey? I think one of the reasons the original was so successful was because it started simple. It is a lot of fun to see a grip of barely clad jerks turn into a group of powerful jerks. It gave everyone the chafe to gain their own powers ans specialize with unique weapons.

I never really got anything too good in the last game, I spread out my efforts too much and wasted my fate point on small bonus'...

Oh, by the way, I just thought of how cool it might be if we had a world based off of HALO or Mass Effect or something along those lines. Might be pretty cool and possibly provide some sweet gear/implants/augmentations. *gasp* Or what about a Deus Ex based world?! How awesome would that be...

Problem with a group of powerful jerks is, I have to scale up encounters. Players, being players, will accumulate ridiculous quantities of off-verse tech, which, with the world selection mechanic, means that things I have previously planned to be reasonably tough for the starting players (with some allowance for progression) will become ridiculously easy in some cases. So, the power loss mechanic is really there to keep things interesting and to make you keep trying to gain new powers while not having a vast array of working powers to rely on should something go horribly wrong. ^_^ And unlike abilities, skills don't have a chance to be lost on world transition, so with gear it'd be just point and shoot, and I would like to devalue that as a solution to all or most problems as much as possible. :P

edit: and no, no Pony world. Even though it could easily be swapped in (there are several worlds I don't particularly care for in the list anyway), there are some considerations that prevent it from being a viable choice - not least of all is the one that I wouldn't like ponies to get shot, thankyouverymuch. :P (and yes, there are other considerations, like "no humans in Equestria" or the whole transformation issue - if you get turned into a pony and succeed the transfer roll, you will stay a pony. Neat, huh? ;) ) No Fo:E world for the simple reason that I didn't like the fic enough to read it through, so I'm only familiar with the most basic premise of it.

Sending third round of alert PMs to Jay and Frelock. If they don't respond by this time tomorrow, I'll start pinging the waitlist people for characters.

edit: or, heck. I'll start pinging them now, what with me being on a weird Russian timezone far away from most of ye. It might take a while for people to respond.

Randomly I get something I least expect, a PM for this and so here I am ready and willing to cause havoc and such

Zarkov Dragonheart
---
Human with brown hair and Manly Muttonchops. Seems average enough though with a certain look in his eyes that makes others a little nervious on occasions (Cha type of thing though some would question his sanity he is secure enough in his mind though it might not always weigh in at what others would consider sane). Weighing in at around 230lb with a height of 6' exact as he will tell you and built sturdy and generally in shape. He is somewhat tanned though more on the pale side if you had to really pin it down. Oh and though you didn't ask for clothes I will note he likes top hats if it matters, not that he goes for the whole Victorian gentlemen thing, its just that he thinks Muttonchops and top hats go together.

Since you'd appear already in the world, you wouldn't be able to access the lockers, so I'll treat you as already having accessed them. Basically, state what you would like to wear, and I'll roll the same check for you as I did for others, assuming Jay and/or Frelock indeed do not report back in time.

And welcome! Sure took long enough for your waitlist application to get processed, didn't it? :P

Long enough for me to forget I had ever signed up for a turn and I generally don't forget such things. Oh and where are the "lockers" cause I didn't see it in this threads OP though I could have missed it.

Oh, the lockers are back at the Cube. (you did read the game thread, right? We've kinda gone for the OOC/IC split threads method.) The very first turn had details on what people pulled out of their lockers, according to a "best of two" Luck roll. What you pick will not necessarily be what you'll get, if you fail those. ;)

edit: it just occured to me that I never did put a link to the game thread in the OP here. My bad. Fixed now. ^_^

Oh, by the way? The description I gave for my locker I totally stole from the Tier 2 mage set from world of warcraft.

If by read you mean present tense then yesish. I will have game thread read soon enough anyway, its only six pages and thats nothing, unless a thread breaks 400 or 500 pages does it ever take me more then a week to read a thread.

Edit: Dragonheart pulls from his locker a dapper Top hat, a pair of tan shorts, either a green or a blue t-shirt, and a pair of rugged looking sandals.

In reaction to a recently received PM, I have generated a character:

Name: Jac Loscure
Description: Pale-skinned human of unknown gender.  Black hair and dark blue eyes, if you must know.
Attempted pull from locker:  A hooded black velvet outfit designed with freedom of movement foremost in mind.  A black leather belt with a pouch.  Black leather boots.  A dagger.

Nice to know that even after all this time, people are still interested. ^_^

That's two signed in, two signed off (at least I think so, zchris13's reply was a bit generic). And still no signs of either Jay or Frelock.

I believe, as long as a GM is interested and puts effort into his/her game, people will be interested.

Also, pioneer of RTDs. That's a plus-plus.  :P
