And by the way, Derm, your character isn't the least melee-capable of the group. That would, somewhat unsurprisingly, be Alix. Lower strength, same agility, lower toughness. Stat-wise, Derek is something like a battlemage - high intelligence with non-horrible physicals. Alix, however, is a pure ranged fighter, with high dexterity and perception. Something of a sniper/mechanic.

I think I read something like that somewhere.

Btw, I was considering at one point to morph the characters into suitable forms when they change worlds, so they'd end up as ponies in MLP, for instance, or as different races in LotR, etc. But in the end, I decided against it. Too much flipping around (they'd be morphed into typical 13-year-old adventurers for this world, for instance) and too many stat changes for fairly little gain, not to mention it'd make no sense for the "true" purpose of this whole thing.

I'm still waiting for Kashyyk.

In the meantime, somebody got a Luck:[5] on finding Pokemon. Since it's a minor overshot, I'm currently trying to decide which of the countless abominations of nature would be appropriate to release on you at this point.

Oh wait, I think I know. Yep, perfect. *evil grin*

Okay, then I'm kinda playing him as a sarcastic know-it-all tactical genius of a Semi-Rincewind.

I'm not sure how to picture Jake. Maybe the tough and grizzled mechanic/medic or something?

Jake is no mechanic or medic, that's for sure. Not with a low DEX. If anything, he's a special support unit. High INT and TOU, good WIS. He could be an elementalist or summoner, in magic terms, or perhaps an artillerist. No CHA focus makes his so-so as a commander, but otherwise he could be a typical general. Or Marshal, if you don't mind the pun.

Yep, that's the one thing from Ruby that opposes the snake type from that game. (I really liked Ruby. Technically it was the ONLY one I had and I played it excessively but still.)

erm... name was similar to a mongoose I think, the snake was... seviper.

A strategist perhaps? Strength wins battles, strategy wins wars and all that jazz. I should NOT have taken low DEX on retrospect, I should have reduced something like CHA or even AGI. DEX is used for too many things. >.<

DEX is used for anything that requires precise handwork. Aiming a gun, working complex machinery, healing people (who could be technically classified as very complex machinery). Not TOO many things.

I wonder, does a man swinging a two by four count as a "normal" or a "fighting" type? It won't have an effect on the rolls, I've just suddenly noticed Zangoose is weak to Fighting.

If it's with finesse or technique I say Fighting, if it's swinging with it and hope for it to land I say Normal. But that's me.
