That bounty hunt looks ideal. Take the job. Buy a boomerang and pay to train Throwing.

Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)

Tak'mir makes a mental note to come visit the guild in the morning and get started on the bounty.

In the mean time, he's content to spend a few hours with Master Wixel of the Stormblade, practicing with his newly acquired boomerang. It's an interesting weapon-the boomerang will always return to its user unless intercepted somehow-catching it a another thing, and Tak'mir gets a few bruises on his face from fumbled throws. When the master dismisses the class for the night, he promises to practice, and come back for another class. Wixel mentions he likes your style, and offers advanced classes on marksmanship, if you've got the coin.

Spent 45 Coins
Got Boomerang
Trained Throwing
Unlocked Tier 2/Throwing Marksmanship (+1d4 damage on a successful throwing weapon hit) for purchase

As he makes his way home, he decides to cut through the back alley behind the Low Row, whistling a cheery tune. Tak'mir stops short though-his mood sours somewhat as he spots two massive shadows skulking nearby-Gwik and Dwik. Judging by the way they are strutting around, they are probably in a mood for making trouble.

He ducks behind a barrel, and listens to them speaking...about him.

Whatta we doing in this part of town, Dwik?

Boss told us to find that Tak'mir, rough him up a bit-see if he's been holding out on his loot. If he so-happens to come upon a horrible accident duringst out interrogations, well...ee'd not shed a tear, and neither would igh'.

Tak'mir is still hidden behind the barrel, but both of them are moving in his direction. He sighs. It's been a LONG day, and he's pretty exhausted.

Stay hidden and let them go by. See if Aak'rak'tar will give you shelter for the night. It is probably not safe to stay home.

Nah. No point risking life and limb against our fellow Kobold. As much as we despise the fools the tribe needs good fighters should it ever come under attack by the Spider Elves or some other threat from the caverns.

Yeah, they are too dumb to spot us though. No point giving the chief any further reason to hate us by killing his top two enforces. Even if we can't be connected to the crime he still wont be thrilled that his goons vanished while after us.

Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)

Tak'mir crouches down low to avoid the idle eyes of the two brusiers-he's got no intention of hurting them unless he has to, no matter how dim witted they are.

For a moment, he's sure that Gwik spots him-his eyes fall on the very spot Tak'mir is hiding at. Gwik squints a bit...and Dwik breaks his concentration by complaining.

Come'on Gwik, I wanna go home. We can get him another day.

Tak'mir breathes a sigh of relief as the two brothers stomp off, arguing about if they should keep looking for you or not. He decides it might be dangerous to sleep at home tonight, so he slips into Aak'rak'tars shop, surprising him a bit. Tak'mir explains his situation

Well, you'll always find a safe haven here, friend. Help me lock up and close the shop for tonight, and you can sleep in the cellar tonight. I'll make sure to stop by your house and tell your mom where you are-and why.

A half an hour later, Tak'mir collapses onto a bed of straw under the shop and and drifts into troubled sleep...

Tak'mir feels himself floating-into himself. In this dream, he's got a sword-a big one, made of gold. He's wearing armor, like a overworlder warrior. Good thing this is a dream, since he would never be able to wear something this heavy usually!

He feels he should be doing something, with all this heroic equipment, so he walks forward into a cave, which was not there until it was. It's only once he's far in, he realizes the entrance has vanished, and the floor is littered with bones.

Up ahead, the sees his intended prey-It's a Dragon, only this one is much larger than the Cave Dragon, and it's scales are a deep red instead of a grey-black. Instead of withered stumps where wings might have once been, this Red Dragons wings stretch from floor to ceiling. It's snoozing on its bed of gold and gems right now, smoke idly pouring from it's nostrils as it snores. His kobold senses tell him to run away...very fast, and as he is about to do so, he stops.

It's Tizzi! She's trapped in an iron cage, held under the dragons left claw! Bad choices all around-save the girl, or save himself? If he fails, the Dragon will eat them both...Tak'mir hates these dreams, since they always end badly, no matter what he chooses.

Save the girl in the dream. After dying and waking up horribly help your friend open the shop. Let him know where you are going, and set off for the Fungal Jungle.

You got a nice sword; rather than trying to sneak around the dragon that has caused you so many bad dreams, just impale its eye right between the lids. You can probably make that leap; your armour is weightless to you.

(These kobolds are very civilized; I keep thinking the words spoken, and actions done, by humans instead of kobolds.)

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

Well he did say that this is a particularly large Kobold village. I'm pretty sure a settlement can only get so big before it has to organize or implode.

Well, it's all a matter of perspective...to Kobolds, Humans are the uncivilized ones. :)

-----------------------------
Tak'mir decides to do what he usually does-attack the Dragon. He leaps up, amazingly high, and drives his sword into the Dragon's eye, to start.

The battle is long and epic, like it always is-Tak'mir is untouchable, and every swing of the swords cuts deeply into the creatures hide, severing claws, wings, arms and legs. Eventually, he cuts off the Dragons head, which goes flying and explodes into a wall. That was new.

As he walks to the cage to free Tizzi, he feels the next part of the dream-the part where he can't move, as Dwar'eet'ik sneaks up behind him. Tizzi warns him, but he never can turn around in time. He then feels a heavy blow on the back of his head, and falls down, tasting blood in his mouth.

At this point, the dream is usually going in slow motion, allowing him to drink in his utter failure as much as possible. He can only lie there, as Dwar'eet'ik tosses a struggling Tizzi over his shoulder, declares that he will take credit for having killed the dragon, making him the greatest chief ever. Dwar'eet'ik then bashes Tak'mirs brain in as he lies helpless with his club. He only stays dead, or asleep, long enough to hear the chiefs horrible laughter as he walks away.  Then Tak'mir wakes up.

A depressing ending, but it's the same one every time...

As usual, Tak'mir wakes up with a headache. The memory of the nightmare is already fading, thankfully. To the nine Hells with dreams! He's got work to do-Jakdar the Mad Gnoll is going to face some justice today. Kobold style.

He helps Arak open the shop for the morning, then heads out of the village to the Fungal Jungle...by all rights, a very nasty place.

*Some time Passes*

He arrives at the triple waterfalls that mark the massive system of underground rivers that feed into the jungle-and turn the ground into a potent soup of mud and nutrients that fuels the formation of the five story tall tower caps and hundreds of smaller mushrooms and molds that cover the area. The only information on Jakdar was that he was hiding someone where close to Redcap Point. Tak'mir could head there directly, or make a stopoff at either the Blacktooth Goblin Camp, or the Sporesnout Gnoll Base. Either of them could give him information on his job, and they would probably have additional work for him.

He'll probably want to steer clear of Rockbelly territory, though...

Aside from all that, Rot Fang Farms always pays for hunting and gathering to be done. Extra coin, and he helps out the tribe.

(Ah, I thought they were a conglomeration containing primarily DF kobolds.)

How quickly is word of your hunt to travel to Redcap Point if you detour to Blacktooth for information?
