Tak'mir decides he's going to have to fight the Gnomes! He emerges from the corner, tossing his jar of Gnomeblight at the patrol!

It sails in a perfect arc toward the patrol...before stopping in midair, and floating gently to the ground. Oh no! There's a Gnomish mage! Along with eight other soldiers, led by three Giant Moles. And flanked by a small admantium battle golem.

Oh dear. Patrols are usually not this well armed. You must have really made them angry last night. Ignoring their calls to surrender, Tak'mir fights bravely, but his end is never in doubt-ending up as strawberry jelly between the metallic toes of the Golem, blasted into ashes by the mage, becoming food for the moles, or cut into quivering pieces by the soldiers.

Tak'mir had died!

...

Or, that's what would have happened, if he had chosen to attack at that moment. Tak'mir was a Kobold, and needed to be smarter than that-he knows he couldn't take a Gnome patrol, especially if they were riled up and ready for battle. He needed a better plan!

how about hid till they leave wait a bit then escape in the tunnel or go out throught the river and find your way back form there

Checking...I said the patrol was very drunk, I didn't say there was three of them. Your thinking about the workers who split up to find you.

lets see our options surrender to piss offed drunk gnomes that were just singing how they where going to skin us alive-mabye
get washed down to the river and most likly drown-mabye
hid and wait for them to leave then go through the tunnel-... FUCK YES

its the best idea other then swimming also slime up to confuse the moles they might find the tunnel

Tak'mir decides, after some thought, to evade rather than fight, and scutters off to a side tunnel. He holds his breath as three Giant moles, eight drunken gnome warriors, a somewhat sober gnome mage and a cumbersome admantium golem pass him by. Lucky for Tak'mir, this parade of foes does not notice him!

Breathing a sigh of relief, he reluctantly dips himself in the sewer water, making sure to keep a firm grip on the ledge-this will block out his scent, hopefully.

After a few tense moments, Tak'mir finds the correct brick! Within, hidden gears whirl and spin, and it opens silently. He slips in, and the wall closes after a few moments...

Soon, he finds himself on the familar path to home. The iron tunnel is a very tight squeeze, but at least it's safe.

*some time passes*

Eventually, he navigates his way back to tunnels he calls home. Not that it's much safer down here! The other Kobold tribes are pretty hostile, and there is always worse things...home isn't much further away-some miles North is his village.

Right now, Tak'mir is hiding alongside the edge of one of the main travel routes down here-all the underground races, like Dark Dwarves, Spider-Elves, Trolls all use it for their caravans. None of them like Kobolds, except when they're dead, or used as slaves or food. Travelling along the road would be the safest route, but he would be sure to run into someone-or something, since lots of big nasties prowl the trade routes for loot and food. Worst of all, the routes don't have many side tunnels or natural cover. It'd be tough to hide or run away if he did encounter anything.

The only other option is to travel through the DarkHollows-a maze of cramped caverns only the Kobold race can travel through. He'd be safe...except from other kobolds...and monsters...it would take longer though, but Tak'mir knows it like the back of his hand-at least, that's what he tells the Kobold lasses when he's bragging. No one really knows the DarkHollows-it's an evil place, if the Shamans are to be believed. Tak'mir isn't even sure what path he used to get through before-the Darkhollows seems to change over time, and the only Kobolds who actually live inside are totally insane, even by his races standards.

Tak'mirs stomach growls, and his throat feels parched, but he's not sure it's safe enough to stop and have a snack here along the roadside.

we can see in the dark right that means we can tell weres there is more light we go their and check it out

Deciding your trip home can wait, you wander around the trade route looking for lights. Most underground races don't need them, in fact, at least not for travelling. You travel a bit aimlessly, eventually finding a side tunnel that leads you down, and emerges before a underground lake! Mushrooms big and small grow on the banks, and the lake itself seems not very deep-the water is calm.

On close inspection, you do find a light, after all-a silvery glowing sphere, located under the surface of the water in the center of the lake. It's very pretty-like a diamond, almost. Tak'mir is a pretty good swimmer, and a pretty thing like that would be the perfect thing to bring back home! He can see it clearly, even from across the cave.

Of course, there's bound to be food down there, and he could use a drink of cold cave water. It might be dangerous, but what isn't?
