Obama has shown himself to be a pragmatic moderate center-leftist, and I will vote for him again given all the other options.

However, I am not fund-raising for his campaign this time around. I did my dues.

I wasted my first Presidential vote on Bob Barr, signed up for his mailing list and quickly realized he was a jackass.

I don't know who I'll vote for this time.  Maybe I'll ironically vote for Ron Paul.  Is ironic voting even a thing?

Blue collar workers who vote for Republicans trashing unions and who seriously talk about taking away the minimum wage aka Michelle Bachmann?

Because poor people make too much.

I think people who do it generally refer to it as "protest voting".  Kindof like a vote of no confidence in the whole system (is there an intentionally silly party in America?  Hm).

We used to have the Bull Moose party.

I think we may need to revive this.

No, we need to revive Teddy Roosevelt, because then we could win.

Zombie Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Eisenhower... former Republicans I would vote for in a heartbeat.

I'll be going for anything that ain't Obama. (Not that I can actually vote or anything)
For some reason, I'm reminded of this.

...Speaking of which, does anyone know of any likely candidates for the Republican candidacy?  All the ones I've seen so far have been dismissed as unlikely, but someone's gonna have to take the position.

Newt gingrich and Ron Paul are the two most likely, I believe.

Wait, how?
I suppose if you regard the European Union as a federacy (although... that's possible quite doubtful), then the leader of that isn't directly elected by the people of Europe.

The European commission is by far the most potent organism in Europe and it's members are not elected.
Although the law of any European countries must abide by their rules, thus the European countries aren't really democracies anymore.

Probably going to end up voting for Obizzi. I wasn't thrilled by his performance in the last 4, but he's proven himself a centrist by democrat standards. I figure we've given other presidents two terms to completely trash our economy, he should get his two to try and fix it. That, and I'm interested to see what kind of 2nd termer he turns out to be. He spent far too much energy in his first term courting voters and the media, to the point that seeing the President on whatever talk show last night started to seriously piss me off, as the million and a half fluff news articles on what his wife wears or what he likes for dessert still do.

Most presidents buckle down on their agendas if they get a second term, and since the economy is the #1 priority in America right now, I'd hope he can put most if not all his energy into repairing that and not trying to be liked. Tell the reporters to go the fuck home and do a real story, he's got work to do.

That is, as long it doesn't rely on hair-brained shit like a high-speed rail plan to create jobs.

That's not what I'm hearing. Ron Paul always looks good in the polls and pre-primary time, but he never delivers. People like what he has to say, but no one is willing to take the risk. This is the 3rd? time he's thrown his hat into the ring.

Newt is just falling further out of favor with the GOP. His whole affair is really dragging him down with the average voter I think, and he's opting to dive even deeper into the "Obama European Socialist" rhetoric. I think the Tea Party kind of poisoned the effectiveness of some of that rhetoric.

Romney and Pawlenty are the two that seem to be getting the most favorable press. Palin, Bachmann and Cain all seem like side show attractions.

I was thinking more like giving him a vote knowing full well he'll never win, like giving someone a five dollar gift certificate to McDonalds after no one came to their birthday party.

I dunno.  It seems like a funny thing to do in my head.

Hahahahahahah Newt Gringrich. HAHAHAHAHA

His entire upper level advisors and entire paid Iowa staff already left him in protest of his vacation cruise when he should have been campaigning. Also, a guy who divorced and left two sick wives, one with terminal cancer, for younger women- and he campaigns on "family values". He'll probably abandon the US to invest in China when the going gets tough. Oh wait, he already has.

What a circus.

And Ron Paul... he's crazy. But I have to give it to him, he's consistently crazy: Gold standard. Telling the government to open Fort Knox so he can make sure the gold is real. Completely withdrawing from the UN and various programmes like WHO and UNICEF. I agree with his rhetoric of cutting back in general, and then he just spouts crazy-talk implementations of watching the standards burn.

Romney is likely, if the Republican base can ever swallow the fact that he's Mormon.

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about his campaign staff. Watch, he'll make some deal with Satan and come out on top personally after the elections even he doesn't win. Like being the most vitriolic and uncompromising candidate will land him Senate Majority Leader again.

Hurgh.  I'd frankly like a somewhat less religious candidate.

Having morals to keep you in line is great, but I kind of disagree with Mormon creed in general.
