[33g] Farm plot miraculously turns sandy peat into quart
« on: February 08, 2008, 07:44:00 pm »

I'm in the later/middle stages of a huge construction project, which involved intentionally collapsing a soil floor layer so it would land on top of my iron farm silo, which rests in a quarry below (I wanted to do this so I wouldn't have to water the farms).

Everything went fine, and the soil was in the right place. However, when I try to build a farm plot over it, within a few seconds (before anyone has even gotten to it), all of the soil turns to quartzite, ruining my farm. I assume there was a quartzite vein occupying the level at some point, which is the only way it would make sense, considering that the tiles below are iron pillars.

Not a game breaking bug by any means, just bothersome.

P.S. Oh, the farm can be completed, but it's still sitting on dry quartzite. Also, I made sure it was the plot that was causing it, and not just related to the passage of time. The only part with the plot on it changed.

Do you want the save file?

There's over 120,000 stones in the fortress right now, so it's a bit sluggish.

I should be fine without it for this one, unless you've got one right before the cavein, which would make fixing it faster.
