Navek deciding after the ordeal with the fire rune to stop anymore incidents to cast greater good luck though unfortunately doesn’t have enough clay making do with what he has though he casts the spell nether less and requires the golem’s help for it, whilst not as powerful it still covers the entire area.
The peasants learning the trade of the gatherers fish by the lake, 18 of the 26 make it, one of them also suggests building some fishing boats, if the lake doesn’t freeze over in the winter fish would be a good resource when the farms are inactive.
Constructing the stone quarry went well, a few scouts also helped out whilst they looked for ores though the only ore stumbled on was so poor that nothing could be extracted from it, what they extracted for the shaft helped to repair the clay pit and made part of the structure, there was even a small amount left over.
Farming and gathering wood went smoothly with no major events, though the hunting was terrible. To make it worse a small group of gatherers was attacked by some kind of giant ant, fortunately they only sustained minor injuries, without Navek’s good luck spell the scenario may have been much worse.
As for the scouts well here’s what happened:
After finding a fire a month earlier Rikkeh and some of his scouts were sent to find whoever made it, it wouldn’t surprise him if it was some of the others in the colony but dutifully Rikkeh scoured the land for tracks as instructed, they’d been covered quite well though so maybe Navek was right and there is intelligent civilization nearby.
After two solid weeks of searching they finally stumble upon 4 sets of tracks, 3 small ones - possibly human or something a bit smaller - and a much larger one with traces of clay at the bottom, it can’t have been Navek and his golem though; they’ve not been this far east. Weariness creeps in several hours later and with no luck Rikkeh takes another hopeful glance around, to his great surprise a large gnome can be seen just a few feet away looking into his eyes, reflexively blinking, he notices a small portal, followed by two lithe humans and a golem.
“Yup, that looks like the one’s we were sent to find” announced the gnome.
“Huh, sent to find, what are you on about” replied one of the scouts, they’re all looking in bewilderment at the stubby gnome.
“Well what do you think? King gets wind of some un-authorised human activity in the area, I get sent over to do the work, now who’s in charge around here?”-10 Wood (-9 for farms, -10 for quarry, 14 gathered)
