Stone Man:http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=4540The first thing that i feel is complete enough to share is a 'stone man' creature which replaces gabbro men. Instead of representing each kind of stone as a separate creature, each stone type is represented as a separate caste in the 'stone man' creature. The castes now have different population ratios loosely based on the rarity of their respective stones.
There are no castes for ores which are smeltable in vanilla as they are covered with castes in the 'metal man' creature. There are also no castes for the two kinds of coal. They are covered the coal man creature. And lastly there is no petrified wood stone man because that should probably be more of a petrified treant than a 'element man'.
Metal Man:http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=5304At long last here is the 'metal man' creature to replace iron men. Each of the vanilla smeltable ores are represented as castes with population ratios based first on their material value and then on their perceived rarity. Thus copper and iron men are the most common and platinum and aluminum men are the least common. For now all of the different castes have renamed versions of the iron man's original gas and the syndrome related to it. I may go back at some point and actually give each '-man' a different syndrome instead of the blanket 'whatever man cough' they all have now. Rarer ones would probably have more debilitating effects or something.
There are no castes for alloys or
-REDACTED- because the first don't occur naturally and the second is special.
Gem Men:http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=5307Also a long time coming, this is the 'gem man' intended to replace vanilla amethyst men. There are a huge number of different gem types in DF and almost all of them are represented by a caste in this creature. These guys have a whopping 100 castes! They have population ratios based on their material values and then their rarity.
No castes for any of the opal types because i'm pretty sure opals are defined by their structure/shape and it thus seems weird to make a man out of them. Also, they're not really 'gems' to my mind.
Coal Men and Clay MenA generic coal man which drops a bar of coal on death and a generic clay man who drops a clay boulder on death. No castes here.
