I am now entirely sober and had no hangover and this thread is entirely hilarious to me.

I do hope I post in it again the next time I get knackered.

Quote
Being a tired drunk is the most boring thing you will ever do; The plus side It lets me know when to stop, cause I sleep before I get ill.

This is why I don't drink all that often. I get drunk, I get sleepy, or headachy, or basically something that makes me not want to stay upright. There's a happy median, but I'm not one of those people that gets more active until they crash from drinking. So while others may be bouncing off the walls, I'm just slowly getting more sluggish. Not exactly teh life of the party.

Booze with meals is great though. Warm sake with sushi is mah favorite.

I do get tired as I drink, but only if I'm by myself.  Normally I'm a laughing drunk, or something like it.  I hate going to sleep after drinking though, I don't really get hangovers (they don't last longer than it takes me to get dressed anyway), but being drunk makes sleeping suck, because I'll keep waking up with a pounding headache but too tired to do anything but sleep more.  Alcohol is a little dangerous for people with thin blood.

When this thread was made last night, my father and I were drinking "Old Granddad" whiskey, as made famous by George Thorogood, mixed with Squirt soda.  Not great but not bad - the Sam Adams with dinner in between drinks one and two kinda ruined my taste.

My only opinion on booze is that Grolsch (?) beer tastes like ass.

Alright you guys before I turn 21 in some years from now answer me this: is red wine worth drinking once in a while? People have told me it has positive health effects, but during the nineties people believed drinking vinegar (pure vinegar) had positive health effects.

Man, forget that nonsense.  Nobody drinks red wine for their health; it may have a positive effect, but if you only drink the one glass a day recommended, you almost certainly are healthy anyway.  And if you drink more than that, you'd never see a health benefit.

If I remember correctly, it's supposed to be good for your heart, and pretty much nothing else.
So not really anything you'd see anyway.

Yeah, okay, I'll keep that in mind you guise. I'll probably end up not drinking in general when I turn 21. My only experience with alchohol was dreadful, and seeing the direct effects of it on people all the time makes me want to stay away.

This thread happened a day too late for me to post in it while drunk. Looks like it'll have to wait 'til next time.

Works on my end. Make sure you don't have noscript on and flash is working.

The red wine thing is because wine loosens up your blood pressure while blahblah something about grapes being good for you. It's basically the same as saying relaxing while eating fruit and not eating chemicals is good for you.

My fruit tart this evening was assloaded with motherfucking antioxidants. Shit, I'm eating so healthy right now.

Always classy.

And while we're on it, always remember to hold white wine glasses by the stem because taste is affected by temperature, but with red wine it doesn't matter if you hold it by the actual glass. It's not finicky like that.

Keep that pinky out! Even for tea. ;)
