I visited a local brewery/restaurant not long ago with my family, and split one of the beer samplers with my mother. The standout was their oatmeal stout. It had an almost sweet finish. I think I might have to go back sometime and get a growler of it.

Yes, yes it was.
Oh good, this one is ok, too. I woke up with the horrific knowledge that I posted on facebook last night, while drunk, just before passing out on the couch, but couldn't remember what. Turns out it wasn't that bad, thankfully.

Hey, now. Mussels are frickin delicious, as long as you're okay with amorphous meat chunks.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Ouch ouch ouch. My head.

And they're not really amorphous, there's organs in there. I also need a breathaliser test on my computer. This should not become a habit.

I'm way too old for this shit, but at the time I feel young again. 4x drunk in 6 days is way too much for this body.

I like vodka and I like...uh...the other ingredient (just say no, kids!), but this is nasty stuff:

This, however, is beautiful:

But all Czech beer is good.

George Orborne's hateful new tax on strong beer is killing off half the world/special beers in The Wellington's beer cooler :< No more Westmalle Tripel or Scneider Adventinus. Oh, and tax is rising again anyway on normal stength beer (apparently between 2.5% and 7.5%) The funny thing is, that it's basically beer in pubs that suffers. It's £3.90 for a 12% bottle of wine in sainsbury's - and it's now £2.70 for a 4% pint of bitter in my local. Killing all the pubs isn't going to solve this country's long-standing booze problem - it's probably making it worse. An alcoholic isn't going to buy a bottle of fancy barley-wine for £4.00 per 330ml bottle, he's going to buy 3 litres of tesco's dry cider for two quid.

I seem to recall liking malbec, but on the other hand that is probably because the only wine I didn't like was one that had actually gone bad. Apparently that can happen! I can't remember any of the details about malbecs though, so I think I will buy some next time I buy wine. Thank you for the decision-making!

I wish I could like wine, but it all tastes way to sour for me.  That and red wines give me a massive headache from a even a small amount.  :|

What I noticed was it has a few different flavours~
Keep it near the front of your tongue, and it'll taste sweet, then you just get a bitter hit as you swallow~
Avoid bringing it near the sides or you'll get a sour hit~

Hrm, maybe a sweet one? I'm not sure, though, and of course there's always still the risk that you won't like it anyway and now you have a bottle of booze you don't want to drink and paid good money for. Riesling maybe? I think those're often sweet, you'd just want to stay away from anything labeled "dry". Anything labeled a dessert wine, too, although those are often extreme in sweetness and alcohol content (I had one once that tasted, I swear to Dionysus, like pecan pie). Anyway, up to you whether it's worth troubling with!
