Also, for me pretty likely. I've told so many Dwarf Fortress stories ever since I found it. Most people walk away if I even mention the word Dwarf or Fortress.

I would, at a very rough estimate, put it at about a 1 in 40,000 chance you know someone here without either of you being part of the reason the other is here.

Seeing as three people in my country play DF (one of them is my cousing and the other is DJ) i think the chances are very very very slim.

There are 34,242 profiles signed up.

There are a bit under 7 billion people in the world.

so 20,000 people for every profile roughly.

However, when you narrow that down to people who have internet access and who speak english, then I would peg it at around 5,000 people per profile.

So if you know N people, then there is a (4,999/5,000)N chance of you not knowing someone.

I would estimate that I know roughly 400 people (350ish on facebook, and a fair few who are not on facebook)

So there is a 92.31% chance that I don't know any of you.

So there is a 7.69% chance that I know at least one of you.

In other news the chances of me knowing someone that plays DF in general is pretty slim, because I live in a town almost entirely populated by retirees who don't understand how to turn on the computer.

Lets just say that this is the sort of country where WC3 and CS are still considered top of the gaming industry, where the gaming population is very low and rather backwards from what i've seen.

That said, no i do not think i am the Pope, unless it's some kind of disorder or something, like Lycanthropy or something.
