I. You. What. How?

Where?

Also : Index has been added to the first post. Next update : Perhaps even today! More Parthans! This time they will outclass our forces, and outnumber us in good troops! We have a secret weapon though : Useless Mercenaries!

One thing that perhaps requires clarification. The enemy infantry morale broke even before they got hit by the general, this is why he suffered no casualties fighting them (and did suffer 2 against slingers)
All the other losses were from enemy general cavalry hitting our horse archers. 20 and 36.

Anyone who hasn't played Rome Total War : General Bodyguard Cavalry is a bomb. Insane armor, Great attack, High Morale. When a general dies though (and he can die at every point) they crumble and after battle are lost forever. General dying has also an enormous negative effect on the morale of your entire army.

General can die from anything. Rocks, arrows, jevelins, daggers, spears.. Once my general got hit by an onager shot. He died, the bodyguards fell apart during a fight they would normally dominate, and the entire army got hit by morale-break-chain-reaction.

Also : General Bodyguards are different for many nations, can be upgraded, can contain more men et cetera. We'll get to it eventually.
If we survive long enough, our general bodyguards will turn into "Armored Eastern General", which is extra slow. loses the ranged attack (that we have now. 3 jevelins or so), but doesn't budge from attacks.

One thing that comes to mind when talking about General Cav is Alexander and his unit. Best cavalry the Macedon army had, but imagine what would happen under Gaugamela if Alexander got struck by a lucky arrow..

Our leader is awesome, but he is also 60 years old.. People don't live much longer.

Dear god the lucky arrows/javilins, they can wreck your shit. Hell I once sent a general cav against a group of Hastitii, just one rebel group, they got one javilin toss before my cav hit them, only killed the general and no one else.

Will you hire your own rock slingers? And doesn't another nation have Armored Cataphracts too? Haven't played Rome in a while.
Also, Spartocus. Heh.

Partha, Seleucid and Pontus are three nations that i know have super-heavy-cavalry and uber-armored-generals.All of them are our neighbours. Yes. As a matter of fact we'll face and use Armored Cataphracts in the next battle, and enemy will have more of them.

Armenia can not hire slingers, only archers.
There are Rhodian mercenaries though, and i believe you can hire some in Spain too. They use slings.

I'm exiled north? Whoo! Also just a recommendation for when we inevitably battle rome. Cataphract cavalry are the best in the world, Romans lack proper spearmen. I think you know what I'm implying. I'd recommend taking pontus out, they're easy early game but can become a horrible enemy later on.

Could I have a general if possible?

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

I'm not sure how to handle that to be honest. The characters in game can not be renamed (as far as i know) new ones come with existing names.. And.. well.. yes that's that.
We can always pretend that XXX (armenian name) is player blablabla.

Unless someone knows a better way.

I still demand to be our current prince, and if you'll allow it to lead the attack against the pontus fools!

Of course. As for attack on Pontus, the first turns are rushy. I can not tell what will happen in 2, let alone 10.

Just checking, since I played a campaign as pontus and the east of the map is absolute hell to conquer. Not to mention the Romans will just get more powerful over time. Also I love how the portraits for the eastern factions either end up with a cool golden faced guy, a really old looking creepy guy, or neanderthals.
