Ayman Al-Zawahiri gets a promotion!

So it would seem Al-Qaeda has managed to fill the position of 'Worlds biggest dick'

Ayman al-Zawahiri is he's name and he is the new head of Al-Qaeda. Yes, that Al-Qaeda. Seems cutting the head off the snake just cost a crap load of money, lives, time, human rights and political stability, and didn't even kill the fucking snake. So what do you guys think?

Personaly, I see an upside. For a while there my plans to become a millionare went out the door, but when one door closes, another opens.

He's not as charismatic as bin Ladin. Smarter, though. Won't really change a thing. Some societies are too damn individualistic to realize that one man does not make the whole group. If al Qaeda were to kill Obama, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, Trump, Palin, or whatever high profile American leaders there are now, America wouldn't suddenly crumble into anarchy. They'll just keep filling the empty seats one after another.

Osama bin Laden and al-Zawahiri managed to survive as long as they did with double-blind courier drops and such.  The guys below them?  Richard Clarke was talking about the CIA hunting the al-Qaeda middle-management guys, and talked about the "number three man" being like the dude in Star Trek with the red shirt.  That's why the CIA's gotten like five or six different #3's.  All things considered, al-Zawahiri is living on borrowed time.

Y'know, beyond the fact that he's old as Hell.  (Good God, he's 59 and he looks like that?)

As the prof of a "social movements, revolutions, and terrorism" class I took used to say, al-Qaeda doesn't function on the "evil genius" model where it falls to pieces when you remove the boss. Unless Aqizzar is right.

From what ive heard he doesnt have anywhere near the earning potential that Bin laden had but is thought to be a bit sharper.  But yeah, guy has a life expectancy of about 6 months
