[OOC: A note on crew members: Most of they time they are restricted to staying on the ship or in town or wherever you happen to be. If you brought them adventuring I'd have to make them pretty easy to kill off to stop it from being overpowered
]
The four of you, along with the Kobolds, rest in the ship for a while. You notice Max trying to train Maverick to steal small items on command, which seems to be going well. You check out the map in the captain's quarters of the ship. It is a map of the coast near Freeport and several islands near the shore. It has a few places of interest marked, as well as an orange “X” with the word “loot” scribbled on it. There are several towns marked, but only Freeport and Tradewind are named.
You ask the Kobolds where they are working out of, they say that they indeed came from the camp marked on your map, but since being freed they haven't returned yet. The two bags of loot they scrapped up from the cave weren't destined for the camp, but instead for freelance merchants they had met. They explain that, for the time being, they decided to work for themselves instead of their chieftain. They say that if they get a share of the loot, they would kindly be part of your crew.
You ask Mark if he would like to stay with the group now that he could safely return to Stockton.
“My house is gone anyway, I have no reason to go back. Besides,” he says with a grin, “things are much more interesting with the three of you.”
You ask him if, for old times sake, he would like to go hunting tomorrow. He kindly obliges.
Max says he's going to find a worthy captain for the ship, along with some more crew members. He returns about an hour later with three men. One, a large orange haired human with a wooden leg, stands out from the group. He immediately walks up and shakes your hand, introducing himself.
“They call me Johnny, I be a real man of the sea,” he looks over the ship, “Max, this is indeed as fine a vessel as ye said. I'll be happy to sail with you.”
(Johnny has joined the party, two human sailors added to crew.)Crappy character art drawn by me.
He and his sailors head onto the boat, making themselves comfortable for now. You and Max head into town looking for work.
There is a merchant looking for a vessel to send a shipment of metal bars to Tradewind.
A pirate crew is interested in your bombs, and will pay you 75 copper coins per hour you spend making the bombs for them, with the materials supplied.
If you felt like breaking the law a little, you could always set sail and commandeer some goods from passing trade ships.
While in town, you buy some arrows.
(-30 Copper Coins, +10 Arrows)You see some other interesting things for sale:
A single flintlock pistol for 5 silver coins.
Bullets for 3 copper coins each.
Glass Vials for 10 copper coins each.
You decide to pack your camp up and bring your stuff to the ship. When you return, you see Asno studying from the book, saying she is close to learning a new spell.
What would you like to
do? Also, what should you
name the ship?
The light blue inverted triangles represent villages. None of them are named on this map, but you know by heart your old home and the nearby human town.
The red X represents your location.
Orange spots represent ruins or interesting locations.
Blue triangles represent friendly Kobold camps.
Red triangles represent greenskin camps.
Crossed out towns are ruins.
