Max taunts the leader into attacking him, causing him to step on a bear trap and become stuck. He swings his axe wildly in anger and starts trying to break the trap, but before he can, Max takes out his club and runs forward, clubbing him over the head and knocking him out.
You rush out and slice the throat of the blinded, burnt Goblin, killing him quickly. You feel like you put him out of his misery that resulted from the first explosion.
Mark backs away and takes aim at the sword-Goblin, hitting him in the stomach and causing him to collapse.
The remaining greenskins surrender, accepting defeat now that they are all badly injured and almost all of their companions are dead. You bring the three living enemies together and tie them up. The Sprite, who you asked to watch the battle, joins the three of you and your prisoners.
As you tend to your wounds she begins interrogating the prisoners, giving them a truthsay potion, a magical mixture that forces the consumer to only say true things, or at least what they believe is the truth.
All seems to be going well. At least, until she asks it why the greenskins are encroaching on Elven land.
“Encroaching on
your land? We are fighting to get out land back! Do you think we have always lived in the deserts to the east? The forest is our home, and it was taken from us many generations ago by your people!”
You all look at each other, and then at the Sprite, who seems shocked at this declaration. If the greenskins are only fighting to reclaim their land, than who is the real villian?
“Tell me, warriors, what makes you think my people are evil? The fact that our skin is green, that we are
uglier than the other races? Our methods may not be the most moral, but the way these Elves have tortured my people are much worse.”
The Sprite seems disturbed, and looks at you nervously. The captured Orc continues talking.
“You three are great warriors, we outnumbered you six to one and you still defeated us. It seems as if you were misinformed about this entire conflict. Untie me, help us reclaim our lands from these insidious fiends and we will reward you greatly. We would not hold a grudge against honorable men such as yourselves.”
The Sprite starts denying these claims, but everyone in the conversation knows that the Orc is still under the effects of the truth potion the Sprite gave him in the beginning of the conversation. So, will you trust the
Elves and continue defending them, or will you assist the
Greenskins in reclaiming their homeland?
