You head back to town and search for the Sprite you saved at the mill, asking if she will watch the battle. You also get some peasant Elves so set up camp near the ambush site to haul the supplies away after the battle. When you get back to the site, the Sprite climbs into one of the trees next to the road, and watches.

You spend the night hiding in the bushes and taking turns at watch. Early in the morning, you hear the sound of carts rolling and get into your positions, traps ready. The Sprite notices as large armored figure inside the back wagon, and informs you that it is an Orchish battle chief. The Elves would reward you well, she says, if you returned him to the camp alive.

There are a lot more greenskins than you imagined there would be, and the carts are being pulled by slave Kobolds. They will surely rebel once the fight starts, however it seems inevitable that the group pulling the front wagon will die in the explosion. The first cart is about to reach the explosives, what would you like to do?

Do nothing until the first explosives go off.

(When you said you were increasing the difficulty did you mean you were changing the system to make combat harder? Or did you acomplish this by adding more bad guys?)

Combat is going to be harder. The extra bad guys are just a situational thing ;)
Also, what do you want to do right when the explosions go off?

Max: Flash grenade onto the wagon with the leader.

Archers: Try to take out any archers not affected by the explosions or Maxes Flashbang.

The explosives trigger, killing many of the greenskins and the first group of slaves. One that was toward the front of the caravan is badly burnt, causing him to writhe on the ground in agony, and taking him out of the fight for now.

Max throws a flash bang toward the back wagon, causing many of the guards to be temporarily blinded. The tripwire attached flash bang also managed to blind one of the front guards.

You aim at the closest archer, missing entirely. Mark aims at the archer on the back wagon, hitting it in the leg and sticking in. (-1 Arrow)

The two Kobolds who weren't blinded by the blast seem to be moving toward one of their slave drivers.

Your position doesn't seem to have been given away yet, although they are looking for you, what do you want to do?

I was kind of skeptical about how much sprites would improve the images over circles, but I really like how this looks compared to the old ones :)

Everybody throw your powderbombs at the rear end of the back wagon. Try to take out the leader while avoiding blasting the remaining Kobolds.

You could take the leader out pretty easily like that, but remember, the Sprite told us when the wagon was approaching that the Elves would pay a substantial reward if we brought him back alive.

Max: sneak behind and deal with that last macegoblin, all the goblins around him around him are blind.

mark: Shoot that blind axedwarf.

Roy: Throw a grenade right behind the first wagon.

OH. and we can maybe try to keep the last wagon intact. We could use it! and it shouldnt be that heavy, if its being pulled by kobolds.

If it is still usable, we will leave it to the elves. Far too much for a party of 3 to take.

Mark: Shoot the bowgoblins again.

Max: Assassinate macegoblin from behind with your knife. Then get back in cover quickly.

Roy: Throw a grenade at the rear of the first wagon, trying to get it near the bowgoblin.

Max + Roy: Powder bombs on the nearside back wheel of the wagon, to immobilize the wagon and and hopefully take out the blunt user and the archer.

Mark: Shoot the lasher in front of you

I took sprites from my texture pack for Dwarf Fortress and, for our adventurers, changed some of them slightly (changed the color of Roy's clothes, gave a bow to mark, gave a dagger and eyepatch to Max, etc. Update in a bit :)
