The song King Rat by Modest Mouse came on while I was writing this, it seemed appropriate. xD Everyone got good rolls for their actions this time, which, while not as interesting, did get rid of the rats pretty efficiently.
You take a javelin and use your moment of opportunity as it's distracted by Mark to stab it right in the back of the head and neck, causing it to writhe in pain. You keep the javelin in until the rat's thrashing causes it to snap, but by the time that happens the rat's fate is sealed, and it stops moving. (-1 Javelin)
Mark, not wanting to turn his back to the huge thrashing rat in front of him, looks past it and looses an arrow at the rat in the back, striking it in the face and killing it.
Max sees his opportunity with the swimming rat, takes a quick, large chug from his flask, and jump in, javelin raised, and stabs it repeatedly.
All the rats in this room are now dead, and you and Mark begin skinning them. He takes two of the “normal” sized rat pelts, giving you the huge one and the other normal sized one.
(+Gargantuan Rat Pelt, +Giant Rat Pelt, +4 Rat Paws)Max picks up the dropped torch, which is still burning. There is still an unexplored hall connected to this, what would you like to
do?The light blue inverted triangles represent villages. None of them are named on this map, but you know by heart your old home and the nearby human town.
The red X represents your location.
Orange spots represent ruins or interesting locations.
Foothill Village: Your old home, there's no going back now.
Stockton: A Human village, your village used to trade with them frequently. It is your current location. You were told there is an old abandoned prison nearby, perhaps it is worth looking into. A one-eyed Dwarf told you the location of a loot cache in the prison. You have found a hidden spot to camp at night.
Cryptsocks: A Dwarven mountainhome that you were told is incredibly rich but exclusive on who can even enter.
Changedgrove: An Elven settlement that sits at the border between the forest and the plains.
