We're a sloop, thus one of the fastest ships around.
Attaching a big metal point wouldn't cut it, it has too jutt out from underneath the hull requiring a lot of metal, if we do use enough we won't be fast enough or powerful enough to utilize it anyway. Armouring the mast though is a great idea

Hmm but use wood for most of it then iron for the point. That should work.

Could work, but as pointed out, our ship isn't built for ramming. It runs on sail power, and ramming ships use both sails and oars to ram boats. We should just stick with the cannon and armour our mast instead.

Its ok also forget the ram we should see if se can get some chain shot (do we already have some?) we're a sloop we can't go against bigger ships and much less any ships of the line which are the the best ships that use sails and they can have any where from 50 to 100 guns and not little 4-5 pounders we most likly have they usually have 12 pound cannons(This is based on my limited knowledge on british warships)

You buy the flags and head back to the ship. You ask if Mark and Max could rig up some iron mast armor. They know nothing about metalsmithing or attaching metal to things. Needless to say, they do a crummy job. The metalworking won't protect against anything bigger then shot shell and chain balls. Speaking of which, that order of cannonballs comes in that you don't remember ordering at all.(-17 iron plates, 3 cannonballs, iron guards for masts.

You decide to call it a day and head to bed.

You wake up to  cries of "ALL HANDS ON DECK.". That can't be good. You quickly strap on your weapons and armor and head up. The blue of the ocean surrounds you.
"What's the matter?"
"Navy frigate off the starboard side, out of cannon range. Elvish make. She seems to have seen our colors, becuase she coming right for us!" The sailor calls down from the crows nest.

Are we still docked? If so, everybody hide! The elves aren't too happy with us at the moment.

If we are in open water, sail hard in the opposite direction! We don't want to handle anything that big right now.

Well the chances of the druids of the elvish village having grudges which extend this far is pretty unlikely, and other than for them the elves like us if you look at reputation, nevertheless with the Jolly Rodger up assuming their hostile is probably a good idea. If we're en route to the loot that means we're at open sea, though what I propose is whilst they could catch us up eventually, being a frigate (if they reach us we could turn faster as a sloop but that won't be much help for a race) we could sail into the night then commander and conqueror style we could extinguish all lights at night and then soak a spare sail in oil and let it drift, the lights will look like a small boat from afar... wait just out of cannon range, what kind of crappy lookout do we have, someone in the crows nest that can see to the horizon should be able to see a frigate from AT LEAST 10 miles away... can we assume our cannon is a massive howitzer which can fire a cannonball say 6 miles and just out of range means another 2 miles?  :D

They must be after the Half-gob remeber this was his ship. And the elves are most likly from the islands so they don't know us RAISE THE WHITE FLAG. Beside Elven warship V. a nine man sloop with a cannon and 5 of that crew most likly never been on a boat... I think you see where this is going.

He makes a valid point. Keep sailing away from the however, but communicate through flag signals to them that you mean no hostile intent and that you are not pirates or somesuch.

We're flyin the jolly roger... raise the white flag and stop and hide the other flags we gave them enough reason to sink us on the spot if we got a freeport fal raise it NOW unless they are at war in which case keep the cannon ready.

((Its not the same type of elves :D))
You order the crew to start sailing away from the Elven Ship and raise a white flag for peacesurrender. They raise a red pennant.
Your boat speeds away from the slow frigate when something strange starts happening. The wind shifts and begins to blow against you and the frigate begins to go alot faster.
The boat is about a five hundred feet away and fires a few cannonballs. None of which hit your ship or injure anybody. Mostly potshots.

Have the captain cast favourable winds! Put the reef between us and the other ship, but don't get too close! Ask Asno if she knows anything that could help us in this situation. In the meantime, have our best gunner fire a cannonball back at their ship, aim for their waterline or mast.

Fire back in fact we should be able to go a bit into the reef ifs its low enough buy there ship should be to big so heading alittle bit into it would be safe but go with the wind and see if anso can control the wind we will really need that.
