Hey, it's not like we have anything better to do between fending off polar bear attacks, seal clubbing, snowmobiling to our friends' igloos, and bashing Toronto.

It *is* hockey. And that's enough for any Canadian (or psuedo-Canadian like myself)

The first city that riots when a horrible book series like Twilight comes out will earn my respect enough that I will move there. Until then, Vancouver is on my list of cities I'm not going to...

Twilight was shot here in Van. Surely this contributed to building up our rage.

"hurr well they'd better start winning then hurr lololol"
One mistake can counter almost two decades of winning, eh?
I'm confused. The Canucks have been winning for two decades and nobody told me?
Or not. I just heard that they rioted the last time they lost about 17 years ago. I figured that a lack of losing was winning. Or not, I don't know anything about hockey. I just read headlines about all the hoopshots and goalpoints the quarterfielders score.

As a citizen of a city within a few hundred miles of Forks, Washington, the city where Twilight was set (not filmed), I must send a missive to Vancouver to let it be know that itself should verily fuck itself. There are a few things I hate. 1: People Twihards who think that everyone from Washington is from Forks. 2: People who want me to describe the amazing scenery of (movie) Forks and get pissed off when I tell them to ask a Canadian.

But seriously, Vancouver isn't that bad. I once considered going to the University of British Columbia there, but changed my mind when I found out what kind of crazy shit you have to do to study internationally. This type of hockey-insanity kind of seals the deal, though.

Suddenly the riots seem justified.  Burn that city to the ground!

How does that work?

Or not. I just heard that they rioted the last time they lost about 17 years ago. I figured that a lack of losing was winning. Or not, I don't know anything about hockey. I just read headlines about all the hoopshots and goalpoints the quarterfielders score.

The Canucks have been a team for 40+ years, and have never won a Stanley Cup. 1994 was just the last time they came anywhere close.

Are the riots still going on?

No. I'm not sure how long exactly they lasted, but it seems to be mostly sorted out now.

it lasted 3 hours last night before it was mostly contained. today was the day of cleanup - streets looking cleaner than they were before I think, except for all the missing windows ...

DJ's pic is pretty funny, but it slightly missed the mark because the government doesn't pay for us to see hockey. In fact, the government makes money because CBC gains more revenue, thus making it cheaper to run.

Okay, so, today this girl I know-Lauren, just took a sudden dis-interest in talking to me. Is she just on her period or something?

How does that work?

Hard work and dedication. I'm from Fargo, North Dakota, which is pretty close to Canadia in and of itself. I'm a Canadian Master Angler (Channel Catfish specialist) and have an accent that is recognized by most to be Canadian (Aboot, Baaag, ect.) "The Canadian" is one of my army type nicknames.
