Dark DestinyFrank MorrisFrank observed the kitten stain with a little distaste. He had never cared for cats. "I'm going into that bar," he said, gesturing at the closest one. Normally he would have just went on his way but it seemed the two who were still with him wanted to stay close.
Maybe the damn thing will scrub out, you doubt it but it's worth a try when you get a chance. Somewhat chagrined you nudge the little dark haired man beside you and point towards one of the buildings that looks like a bar on the third floor of one of the skeletal buildings. If he needs you that's where you're going to be.
The detective however puts a hand on your forearm before you can step into the crowd of souls, surprised at the touch you turn back to see the four thugs close the remaining yards between their group and yours.
Jhon Harley"Oh hey, were new arround here, can you point us in the direction of somewhere we can find some information" Attempt to diffuse the situation
As soon as the thugs are in speaking distance you ask your question calmly, there's always a shot. [Charisma+Streetwise=Fair Success] The blond man with strips cut through his hair that seem to go down to the bone smiles slightly.
"Yeah, you look like mitties..." He considers you for a moment looking you up and down, then his face breaks into a surprisingly malevolent smile and he locks eyes with you. [Gabe Appearance+Intimidation: Fair Success VS Jhon Appearance+Intimidation: Complete Success] Typical ganger, it's a game of who gives first under pressure. You fix your own gaze on him, unblinking, unsmiling, and completely focused. A long minute passes before you add in a timed detail, a slight quirk at the edge of your lips, just the ghost of a smile to suggest your advantage. He blinks once, losing the staredown in an instant. For a moment fury and surprise war on his face but he swallows them instantly when one of the two women breaks into a whooping laugh and slow applause for you.
The leaders mood changes and he nods.
"Maybe you're no dothead... You wanna see the city? Cost you a coin, no better guides than doomshades, we take you places cohorts don't go." He waves his arm expansively over the necropolis, unnervingly the leather jacket that seems to made out of his skin cracks and bleeds from the motion.
"Good deal for mitties eh?" The others of his group laugh at that last bit, and you have a feeling that he's having a joke at your expense. The argot is a little odd but you would guess that they are the doomshades, the problem is that you have no idea how much anything should cost, whether one coin is a slight overcharge or a massive rip-off is unknown.
Raymond ConnorLook around. Is there an escape route? If so, then escape using my superior fire power and asbscondinating skill.
You rose yourself from your freakout session, you're still in the city grid so there should be plenty of space to run as long you're fast. [Dexterity: Fair Success Vs Reaper Dexterity: Fail] While the woman fumble with the chain hook that would have secured you to the main sequence of slaves and you bolt for it, [Dexterity+Athletics: Complete Success] running as fast as your limbs can carry you. You make it a fair distance before the first shot is fired, the small whipcrack of a light revolver [Reaper Dexterity+Firearms (Diffculty 6+1 moving target +1 long range=8): Botch] it misses and gouges the glass front of a skyscraper to your left. You whip around and fire a single shot from your heavy pistol to let them know you're no easy game. [Dexterity+Firearms (Difficulty 7+1 moving, -1 target botched roll=7): complete success] [Damage roll: 4 corpus damage] Your heavy revolver roars and the .454 slug sends the gunner reeling in a burst of ectoplasm, you waste no time in turning back to run even as a voice booms out behind you.
"Leave him damnit or by Charon's mask you'll be the ones in chains, he's only one slave!"Despite that you run three blocks, change direction, and run another two blocks before crouching down with your pistol, you've
evaded capture for now. [Perception+Awareness=Botch] You're too busy panting out breaths of air that isn't there to notice anything.
