You nudge the man with the toe of your shoe, he shows no sign of being alive at all. Unsurprising considering that he just hit the concrete with more force than you care to think about. His body however seems to be regaining its shape, the crushed chest seeming to fill out again as the blood from the man's cracked skull leaks back into his head.
To kick you when you're freaked he blinks once as the process completes itself.
Tarran SmithTarran keeps crying a little before shaking violently, sniffling and saying; "I'm going to need a lot of beer. A gallon or so... At least, since I'm dead, I can't overdose, right?"
Tarran looks around and notices a body splattered on the ground.
"...Wha..."
Tarran walks over to investigate the man.
Your attempt to regain your composure is interrupted by a corpse skydiving into the pavement without a parachute. By the time you make your way over to where it lays the body has mostly reassembled itself, in shock you watch as the body blurs to its feet without seeming to need the intermediate movements.
As you watch a strange change comes over the man's slack face, life returns. The smile is the first thing, then the rest follows. His jacket and tie snap to pristine again and he looks over the deserted street and nods to unseen people with the air of a man with a secret surprise. The glasses that warned Kaguro appear whole and unbroken on his nose, bright as the day they were made For a man who who you just watched kill himself he seems remarkably happy.
The stranger ignores all of you as if you didn't exist, walking straight to the building that he just jumped out of. In a few minutes he's going to be out of sight inside...
Adrian Leroe"Me?" He turns to the man with a sword. "I'm a Dead Lawyer, via bullet in my torso area. As for this poor creature.. I don't know. I saw the chain, I picked it up, and out he came. To be honest, I'd be quite uncomfortable right now if I didn't know how to handle odd situations..." Adrian tilted his head, and crouched down in front of the chained man. "Stop pointing that thing at me. It's rude." He looked curiously at the slave for a few moments. "I take it you have no more answers than I do about this place?" He adressed the swordsman again, before looking back to the slave. "Let's ask this man. He might have an answer... Oi, you. I'd like you to answer some questions for me. First thing is first; Do you have a name? It's troublesome calling you 'Oi, You' all the time."
The ragged apparition looks at you strangely, almost hopefully. Licking his lips he seems to be torn on what to say, [Charisma+Empathy=Complete Success] after a moment he speaks in a very quiet voice.
"Friends called me Ross back in the skin... Reapers just call me wretch, been so long I don't remember whole name" After speaking he seems to retreat, as if part of him was afraid that you were going to beat him. You wonder what made him like this...
Hikari Shizume"For now I will trust you, but if you take one wrong step I will kill you on the spot understood?" said Hikari as he also asked the slave what was going on.
You believe the man for now, but beliefs can change. This seems strange, unreal. The only way to deal with the unreal however was to treat it as real. Kneeling before the slave you attempt to gently ask what's going on. [Charisma+Empathy=Fail] Ross shakes his head, making the chain on his neck rattle slightly.
"Doesn't matter, wretch knows nothing... Have to get away from the down, then can talk." The slave seems to have regressed slightly and he eyes the rather unremarkable manhole in the street with obvious terror.
"Up is bright, down is dark, demons in the dark, dark, dark..." he singsongs to himself as he rocks back and forth on the bare road.
