Call out to the others. "Hey, do you know what's going on? Last thing I remember I was in my office turning down an applicant and then... I got shot. And now I'm out on the street which should be full of cars and people, completely fine? And this doesn't look like heaven to me. If you have answers, I'd request to know."

Tarran stood silently, his face twitching.

"But... there's no way I could've died from a falling piece of derbies from a skyscraper. I mean, that's a one in... some hundred thousand chance of happening..."

His legs began shaking slightly.

"I spent eight (out of 28) years... helping people... where is heaven? Surely I would've gone to heaven. Right? Right?"

Tarran steadies himself.

"Yeah, right, I should've gone to heaven.

...Oh, wait... I'm an athiest...

..."

Tarran stands motionless.

Adrian moves over to pat the doctor on the shoulder. "It's okay. I spent my years being a lying manipulative bastard, for the greater good of justice, and you don't see me with a halo, now do you?" He smiles slightly, indicating his weak attempt at a joke.

Tarran is unphased. His eyes motionless.

What is seconds seems like minutes, before Tarran drops on his knees.

"All I wanted was a vacation." He says, without even a bit of emotion in his voice.

"A few weeks... out of eight years..." His voice slowly breaks up.

"I sacrificed my life for all my patients... I've saved the unsavable... I've given children back their parents..."

"But... is this all I get for it?"

Tarran cries softly. Trying to keep face lest he embarrass himself in front of the others.

Seeing that his joke didn't work in the slightest, Adrian sighs, and comforts the doctor. "It's okay. It happens to everyone at some point. What's your name? Mine is Adrian. Although now is probably a really bad time to be saying that... For the record, you died an interesting death. Doubt it helps, but it's something right?" Adrian never was good at cheering people up. Unless it involved him winning a trial.

Kaguro and Adrian can attempt to gain Pathos (Sorrow) now if they so choose, Talarion can do so at a diffiulty of 7, Kaguro at a difficulty of 8.
