Makes me think while you're finishing off the first siege, or getting exhausted from the pummeling for the 11th time, that the 2nd siege might overrun you. But then again I guess you could tag team squads or make it !FUN! for the siegers.

A thought occurred. Is it possible to make the dwarves smooth a conjured obsidian wall and then carve fortifications in it? With this setup, the dwarf would not risk falling into the water, and I could confine it to a 1x1 tile, the same as the goblin on the other side of the fortification.

Or I could just do future testing over the magma pool instead.

Eh?  You should be able to just put fortifications into your arena layout.  Or you can put a ramp on the Dwarf's side so he climb out of the water.

2 tiles of 7/7 water and ramp on Dwarf's side and swimming skill on Dwarf should work. Grate wouldn't, as the Dwarf would close in on the goblin, and they'd melee. But that is still unnecessary. Dual (triple? quad?) shields it is!

I will proceed to abuse this in adventurer mode with the 'r' bug having 10 Equipped shields and my weapon.

Oh yes.

Can you make fortifications in arena mode? I couldn't figure out how to do it.

I'll keep that in mind for the future. Or rather, I'll keep the wiki in mind because I'm more likely to forget the hotkey. Didn't expect it to have the arena hotkeys.

Why doesn't it say that in arena mode??? I had always thought I had to make any walls using water and magma... Knowing that allows for so much more stuff, like proper fortification testing...

You could probably hit ? in arena mode to bring up the help menu.  Shocking, I know, but DF DOES have a working help menu!

Because you don't do it in arena mode. You modify a text file.
