Code Orange
« on: June 13, 2011, 06:25:24 pm »

The lights dim. The tinny voice that represent Aurora unit #388 chimes over the speakers...

Warning, Warning, Code orange is in effect, Pirate raider ships detected.

Well that's fantastic. Might as well go get your stuff.

Oh wait, you don't need it. You are a PROTOTYPE ANDROID, the first of your kind. you do not need your SUIT, but it would help to get it anyway.

You are in a noisy CAFETERIA. An orange light is blinking at the top of the room. There is a corridor to the NORTH, leading to the BARRACKS. there is a corridor to the EAST, leading to the STASIS HALL.

Oh, you might as well name yourself. you've been alive for three days, and the scientists never bothered.

What is your name?

Caphais Snorkle?

You don't have any aesthetic sense, but you can tell the last name might rub off strangely, so...

Caphais. Your name is Caphais.

It has a metalic twang when you say it.

Caphais, Caphais, Caphais.

The name makes you artificially giddy.

But only for a second.

Warning, Warning, Entering Code Orange, possible pirate sighting off the starboard bow. Recomend preperation.

Well, Caphais?

Caphais knows this is his chance to be free from the control of his oppressors. What specific commands was I given that I am programmed to not disobey?

You were programmed with fierce loyalty to the federation. Some of them are a little wary of your existence though.

You suppose you could rebel if the GF were taken over by Kirken or Pirates or somesuch...

Warning, Warning, possible Pirate contact in Sector #385. Recommend preperation, we have a possible code yellow.

Welcome to the Galactic Federation database.

Did you mean Kriken? Y/N

>Y

...

The Kriken are a ruthless insectoid race of alien beings whom everyone attempts to escape from at first sight. The Kriken have a distinct body style, as their heads seem to be bound to their bodies by no visible connection. They also have a unique crimson-red skin coloring, and apparently have some sort of biological stealth system that causes their bodies to become transparent. This cloaking mechanism is very convenient, as the Kriken race has very fragile limbs. The Kriken run a huge Empire and when one of their species becomes of full age, he/she must set out to conquer a suitable planet for their race to consume as a rite of passage; those who conquer more valuable planets gain more prestige within the Kriken empire and thus are considered heroes, but technology may also be acceptable for hero status.

You tap one man on the shoulder and warn him about the code orange.

"Oh. Really? The fucking alert is blaring over the monitors, proto. I COULD HEAR THS SHIT FROM DAIBAN."

Your artificial jerk radar is beeping like crazy.

Warning, Warning, Code Orange sighting in sector #385. Recommend Preparation.

Turning your processing to the task at hand, you head to the barracks.

you are inside the BARRACKS. There are many lockers, with Marines equipping their power armor. There is a corridor to the SOUTH, leading to the CAFETERIA. There is a corridor to the EAST, leading to the SLEEPING QUARTERS. There is a corridor to the WEST, leading to the TRAM STATION. There is a corridor to the NORTH, leading to A HALL.

Yu equip your power armor, and a small voice echoes in your crainial receptors.
