So, Zorgn, how exactly is this set up? Multiple players hacked onto one planet? Or SM wizardry doing the self - harming? ;)

The game was designed with the ability to start multiple nations on a planet, many of steve's game logs are structured around that very idea

If the various nations have abandoned the idea of firing upon the victim of an attack, Space Inc. will agree to contribute manufacturing capability to constructing the defense PDC's once they are designed.

Yes, since we cannot allow missiles to turn Earth into a radioactive wasteland, we're going to stop missiles attacking you. But we don't want to protect you, so we'll deal 1 point of damage using our mesons for every point of damage we saved you from. You don't loose anything.

And if you don't want to join in, even without sharing techs, you can always set up your own missile defense, or manage not to get shot at.

Also, I'll start researching the Meson Focusing technology.

I'd like to have a roster of all the MDI members.
-The Culture (Sheb):Meson Focusing Technology
-The Star Federation (Breadbocks):Active Sensors or Beam Fire Control
-The Greater Chinese Empire (Nirur Torir):Pressurized Water Reactor
-The IntaStella Lawmakers (Burnt Pies):Capacitor Recharge Rate
-The New British Empire (Knave):10 cm Meson

Did I forget anyone?

Yes, you forgot the Space Illuminati.  We will donate the Active Sensors Tech, if Breadbocks does not mind.

But... What will we do then? I want the protection of the system, and I'll be putting all my funding into getting out of the system ASAP.

Fire control is super important.
It's under sensor development!

Fine, Space Illuminati will take Beam Fire Control.

We also need a reasonable deadline for the exchange of techs, otherwise one player could put a no-skill scientist with one lab on their assignment, and throw the whole thing off track.

I suggest two years.

Perhaps we should all focus on the techs we are strong with.

Nirur - Water Pressure Reactor (power)
Sheb - Meson Focusing (energy)
Knave - 10cm Meson (energy)
?? - Fire control (sensors)
?? - tracking speed (sensors)
?? - Active Grav Sensor Strength 10 (sensors)
Burnt Pies - Capacitor recharge rate (Power)
It looks like we still need tracking speed. I've both fire control and grav sensors lined up for teching first thing, but nobody's volunteered for tracking speed yet.

I would say 1 year tops. This beginning tech is fairly easy to research Shouldn't really take more than 6 months.

Actually, we don't need tracking speed, as everyone starts with 1250 m/s tracking speed.  Granted, that is slow for modern missiles, but sufficient for ICBMs.

It would be faster if I took either beam fire control or active sensors, then we could start manufacture by the end of year one.

Also, I hope Zorgn can keep up with our constant tech changes.  I've probably got to send a final instructions, but only after we get this settled.

Hrm. Wait.. *counts* The 6 members of the project research team, and Space Inc.... Who are we missing? ???

Also, I suppose you could take fire control, if tracking speed isn't needed.

Someone will need to commit some minerals to this project as well. Space Inc. is willing to manufacture the systems but we cannot supply the entirety of the TN mineral costs.

It is hard to say how many minerals will be needed until after the research is done.

I still haven't played this all yet. Eventually you guys'll stop the diplomacy, and I'll take it from there. Till then, argue on. :P

I think we're pretty much settled now if you want to advance time a bit. assuming you have everyone's orders of course.
