Hmm, would probably depend on the arena, a big open area like Doom 2 stage 32 would probably end badly for me.  But some of the darker more mazelike passages may work in my favor.  Takes a second to start up a chainsaw.

In most situations Doomguy would likely win though, sadly.  Higher tech equipment.
